I haven't built the front axle yet. I also don't have the steering box either.

I have the straight version of the steering arms. The holes are Toyota taper for the Tie rod ends and the bolt holes are countersunk Allen head bolts.

I have to take my knuckles to the machine shop to have them machined to fit the key ways in the steering arms.

I have the tie rod ends threaded into the tie rod and the relay rod, but will assemble them when get the axle assembled whenever I get home long enough to work on it.

There are other Mud members that have used FJ70 tie rod and relay rods with FJ70 tie rod ends and the FJ80 steering box like Pablo Cruise in CO, he has photos.

I got the steering arms, trunnions and bearings from Front Range Off Road in Colorado. They drilled the tapered holes in the steering arms for the Tie Rod Ends for me.

I upgraded to FJ70 tie rod and relay rod and tie rod ends because they are bigger and stouter than FJ40 parts. I the right clamps from SOR and they had a record of the tie rod and relay rods I had bought and sent the right ones. The lengths are very close to FJ40 rods since the tracks are the same.

Thanks for your time !

Anytime.
It is a process and I am learning all the time.

I tried ordering from Iron Pig. They refused to sell me the parts because they do not ship to Florida. That sucks. So I am now having to find what I need somewhere else. .

Try Cruiser Brothers in Sacramento, CA they will be able to take care of you. Georg and York will work with you.

Georg, likes to have conversations with you about your build and he makes recommendations that he thinks would best suit what you want to achieve.

Do you have a Florida mailing address?
I keep an Iron Pig drag link in stock here.

4Plusproducts sells the threaded adapters for the 60 & 80 series tie rods. Get yourself some 1 1/4" x .250 wall DOM and build your own links. I just finished the PS steering conversion on my 40 using an 80 steering box, and I built mine with 60 series ends. Started at 8:00 AM....had everything measured, cut, welded, and painted before lunch.....

PM me your number, and I'll text you some pictures of my setup.

Which parts are you after?

Drag link for 80 series power steering gear box conversion on 1978 Fj40 . I'll also need an 80 series TRE for the pitman arm and a 40 series TRE for the axle side. I received a few quote from other Mud membersbut I'd like to know your prices. Thanks again.

We can easily help with any of the stock length 4x/5x/6x/7x/8x drag link and TRE tubes and/or the ends themselves.

For example the 8x drag-link end at the pitman arm:

These are the tie rod ends I will use with FJ70 tie rod and relay rod.

I have built my front axle with the high steer kit from FROR and have it all together under the truck now and mocking up the FJ80 PS box.
I removed the shock towers, the motor mounts and the steering box pedestal today, then mocked up the new PS box today. The pitman arm is lined up with the match marks. This box has the FJ105 sector shaft. The shock towers have already been removed.

I don't remember the exact recipe. I think I used a combination of 3rd Gen 4Runner and 2nd Gen Tundra shafts to get the final product. I do remember cutting two dissimilar shafts and welding them together to make what I needed. There may be details buried in my FJ40 build thread.
