Installed these tonight for a customer. He has a 1976 FJ40. I wish my interior was installed so I could install one in my own:)

Here is a design for an 1979-83 fj40 with the plastic center console. One other mud member installed this with some minor modifications. I made some changes to the design and am willing to cut it out, prime it and send it to a mud member for a good price to try out the changes I made in the design. If someone would like to take measurements to help me make changes that would be great also.
Thanks MUD.

I hot-glued a magnet to the bottom of a 7/11 "big gulp" cup. Sticks to my floorboard or tranny hump ;-) :hillbilly:

If you have a cup in the later model one and you're in 2nd or 4th, does it hit the cup?

On the current models in 2nd a tall cup does get hit. I am working on some design changes to lower the cup holders and reduce that. With a can of coke or something small it doesn't hit, Just my tall bike bottles. I am working on some design changes and hope to have some for sale in about 2 weeks.

Do you have any for sale yet? Would love to get one. Thanks!

Love the designs and ideas. I went the easy route and just mounted a Tuffy cup holder to the front of the console (Standard Drink Holder). It fits good and standard cups and water bottles don't hit the shifter. I have a second one I'm planning to mount on the rear swing out door behind the spare tire.

I painted and installed this one in my own. I need to lower the cup holder a little bit by Redrilling or lowering the holes in the next models I cut out. I will be making some more soon. PM if you want one. Thanks.

More cup holders are cut and ready to ship. I made it sit a little lower to the transmission tunnel and allows for taller cups. $35 shipped and painted black for a basic model for 73-78 years. $45 includes a 12 volt outlet. I have a couple 79-83 model cup holders being shipped out for final testing, then those will be available.
PM me.

@CarDude if you can take some pictures and measurements I would be more than willing to try. Is there a bolt somewhere in the center of the seat frame to attach? Or a spot under the dash to do a single? I would like to make it where the person doesn't need to drill holes, but not sure if that is possible. Let me know. I would love to do the earlier years.

I will do some researching and let you know thanks

Having now used the cupholder for a couple months now I'm very happy. Perfect location for a beverage or to put the cell phone. Best looking option I've seen posted also.
