Yep, probably in 3 weeks or so. I'll be heading to Las Vegas next week, but not in the FJ40.

Thinking about camping in Prescott area OCT 12-14 if that helps at all.

it already made it way north of me. i did mention to rezarf on rising sun that i could get it to slc this weekend if need be, but not in my 40 cause that would be a two week trip at 40mph

I'm trying to firm up a couple of other options. I'd like to visit my friend in Ridgecrest that owns the mini-motorhome FJ40, but I haven't been able to get ahold of her yet. She had cancer surgery last month and may be out of town for chemo.

I also have a care package that has been waiting a year to be delivered to a friend in Darwin that I could take if I were going in the South. It's too large to haul all around DV to deliver on the way out.

Yes,right now it does...BUT...there is a possibility that I will need to be out of the area on and around that date.

Unfortunately I won't know one way or the other for awhile. However, the odds are in our favor, I know I am able make it on the 18th with Mark and will do all I can to be available on the 28th for Mono Lake.

@jocww It will be an out and back. Not sure what the plan is once it gets back to the Bay Area. Perhaps you can take it and head to tahoe with it and on your return connect with someone in Sacramento so it can start heading north...

I've got the briefcase here in Los Alamos, heading to Chinle, AZ for a hand-off to @Reznugget, leaving this Friday. Can you join my wife and I for part of the trip out there? I don't know what time we're leaving town, but was planning on taking the Santa Fe bypass, NM 599, part way around town, then down the old La Bajada Hill on the way to Bernalillo on old Route 66. From there we'll probably be heading north through San Ysidro and eventually Torreon and points west.

Awesome timing! I'd love to cruise along with you, The lower section of old route 66 trail is closed , but the top loop is still well worth the effort. Let me know the time and place and I will be there. My family and I live on the mesa south of Santa Fe, I love that trail. looking forward to meeting you both.
