CSC. Tucson August Meeting

Was unable to handoff with 4cruisers this weekend due to his Fj40 having a radiator issue that left him in a bind! I hope you got home ok buddy and we will let everyone know when we get this thing on the Rez! I'll be heading through New Mexico in a few weeks so that's a possibly, but at worst we should be able to get it done sometime in august, and then I just have to figure out who wants to try and meet for it west of me! I'm pleased that my 78 made it down from pagosa to chinle without and issues and I can't tell you al how impressed I am with how well it runs and idles. Thanks to Justin Breedlove at wolf creek rod works: they did a great job helping me get up and running reliably so that I can drive it and work on other stuff as time passes. Hope to get some picks posted to my thread in a week or two!

I dropped my radiator off at Santa Fe Radiator this afternoon. They'll hot tank it, flush it, make a few minor repairs, pressure test it, and paint it. I'll pick it up tomorrow and get it installed. While I'm waiting on the radiator I'll do the minor wiring modifications for the FJ60 coil and igniter. The FJ60 distributor swap went really well. I should have the FJ40 up and running again before the end of the week. I can't wait to try out the electronic ignition and vacuum advance.

BTW, while in Santa Fe I stopped by a local restaurant and picked up some literature suitable for the briefcase.

Westward to Tucson today
I spent the last 2 days putting all the pieces I have collected FST pieces on my 40. It is a FST model but had lost most of the top before I got it. I needed more than the bikini top with the monsoons here in the SW
The hardest part was stretching the paki top that had been in storage for years
The meet with @SOAZtim is tomorrow evening at the Copper State Cruiser meeting in Tucson. New radiator and top and ready to go. Time for Willy to be singing On The road again

I live within a couple of miles from a section of the continental divide trail
The sections close to me go through lines, onions, oak and juniper.
