if you're getting movement, you probably just need to adjust your slave throw ... there are two nuts on the rod that you can adjust.

Ok. Will try to ascertain my understanding of adjustment when I return.

Bonus - you've got a PTO on that t-case :D

Had assumed, since I've three shifters on the floor, but saw it this morning and wondered how common.

Having issues publishing video to YouTube from Iphone, so asking for assistance from my thirteen year old.

Jinkees, I step away for a few days and there is a new Pig owner and a 5 page thread to deal with!

Chris, welcome! I have nothing new to add, no value, other than possibly summarizing what others have said...

You are being hard on yourself about this purchase, your Pig is far better than others I have seen!

Coming from the 80 world may be difficult for you, b/c so much is known and documented about the 80s. WIth the Pig, it is more like a faith/religion. There is much that is not known. Trust in your abilities, trust in the others to help you, most of all, trust in your Pig. It will guide you...

I had done a few things to my 40 when I saw my first Pig in person. I stopped and walked around it, mesmerized. It was then that I had been infected with Pig flu. Some people just have to do it, sounds like you are one of them.

I look forward to reading more!

Give it a year. It'll be biblically proportioned.

Thanks. Guess I needed to hear that.

It's an LC, and a true affinity for.

Only vehicle I could possibly think of that I feel remotely close to the same for, is a 72 Camaro, and that's waned, 'cause 33-39s won't fit.

You pegged it. I realized a trait/flaw long ago, so learned not to fight it.

I look forward to reading more!

Good, 'cause I'm the wordiest Mudder in the history of Mud.

Well, received title...

Still in name of PO twice removed. Maybe that'll rig a bell and there's a thread on, somewhere.

She's insured and registered, and I have a tag, but no title can be issues until it's inspected at tag office, so my goal is to drive it 9 miles there on city streets and 9 miles back, hopefully by weeks end.

Therein lies my project fellas. Need brakes, so any advice/process will be followed to a T, short of rebuilding the drums, since abandoning.

No manuals until next week, either.

When I received title, went back by to check VIN and she fired right up. Won't idle, but breathed at first request.

Lower your idle speed. Put a wrench on your manifold nuts and snug them up. same with pan bolts, especially the front ones. Read up on valve adjustment and prepare for that.
Congrats on the PTO, but, are you ever going to need a winch on that rig?
How about some (still) pics of the clutch slave pushrod and clutch fork? Also wondering if perhaps your pressure plate is not torqued down sufficiently...easy to check with the flywheel inspection plate removed.

.

1. Once I got leads cleaned, sounds like a blower motor is trying to spin on the PS firewall. Just a loud humming, that I can't locate. Another description would be a similar sound to the 60 seconds it's takes my POS 6.0L Powerstroke's glow plugs.

Maybe it's the blower motor, on the PS firewall...
(that big black thing)
Try finding the switch on the dash and turning it off.

Lower your idle speed.

Oddly, when returned later in the day, it wouldn't idle, at all.

Put a wrench on your manifold nuts and snug them up. same with pan bolts, especially the front ones.

Torque specs?

Bahahahaha.

Read up on valve adjustment and prepare for that.

Gotcha.

Been reading up on a lot, and ventured into a rebuild thread. Sounds cheaper to put a 2UZ (it's a joke)

Congrats on the PTO, but, are you ever going to need a winch on that rig?

Doubtful. So where's that leave me?

Tomorrow on stills.

Preparing for an assault on brakes, so I can get the VIN plate inspected and pressure wash the underside.

After that, I really have no clue where to begin, but I'm committed to the long haul.

For pan bolts: one hand on the middle of a ratchet, manifold: one hand on the end of a ratchet. Just snug 'em up, looking for loose ones.

Also, check your head bolt torque. They're often not re-torqued after a re-build. You really should remove the rocker shaft to get to the middle head bolt. Do that before adjusting valves. I torque my head bolts to around 100 pounds.

Doubtful. So where's that leave me?

Well, you could hunt down all the parts for a complete PTO winch...(hard) or put the cover back on and sell the PTO on 'Mud classifieds (easy).

I missed the PTO reference earlier in the thread, but my fairlead assembly on my PTO winch is driving me nuts.
Want to sell me yours?

Don't you have a phone to answer, bitch?

Hey, at least you know I won't be begging you for s***. :flipoff2:

Oh I'm sure you will if you decide to go SOA, looking for power steering components, lockers, ring and pinions or any other number of modifications you'll conjure up as the s*** show moves along.
