i have an 87 bezel, i have to look for the dash pad and it is the same as my 86, but it came out of a pick up not a 4runner, not sure what the manufacturing date is on the 87's they are both gone, i can look and see if i have any thing with the vin #s here.

In the garage right now, trying to get this dash pad off. I know I have to get that far right vent out, there's a screw behind it. But I can't get it to come out, I'm afraid I'm gonna destroy it. This used to be a southern truck so everything is really brittle from the sun. Any tips?

I have another one here so I know exactly how the metal catches work. But I can't get these to release. Don't wanna bust anything.

What a stupid design.

The right (passanger side) vent is actually a 10 mm bolt behind the vent. I usually just bust the vent off since I have about ten of them sitting at my dad's shop. They are a bitch to get out. A sinch once you remove the dashpad from the back. You can also finegle it out from underneath if all of the other bolts/screws/nuts are removed. You are correct though by removing the vent to get to it. There is also a 10mm nut in the center of the dash. It's a real pain to get to. You have to get underneath the dash and use an 18" extension. You will get your yoga workout for the year after finding it. I would also recomnmend using a 1/4" drive set since room is tight under the dash. YOU ONLY HAVE TO REMOVE THE NUT ABOUT HALF WAY. You can pull the dash off the clip then. I'm sure you know about the five screws and the 10mm nut under the instrument cluster housing. I can remove the dash in about ten minutes now. The first time I did one it took almost two hours because I didn't know about the 10mm bolt in the center.

I got it off, wasn't too bad. Crazy, I'm not sure you're gonna wanna pay the postage for this stuff. There is a crack in the dash, not huge, but I noticed that the vinyl is getting pretty brittle. I'll try to post a picture so you can decide.

KlF there isnt s*** you can do

How much to ship the glove box to 19083 (Havertown, PA)? Do you have a paypal account? Definitely want it. You wouldn't happen to have the center console also?

Sent you a PM, I have the glovebox all boxed and ready to ship, if you still want it.

Pics of the other stuff if anybody wants anything:

Yup, that's where I'm going.

Funny thing about that big dash piece, it's actually brown plastic. I guess they sprayed them red at the factory. I also have a couple of them in gray, one of them is actually blue, but painted gray.

Sent PMs to everybody that said they wanted stuff, no replies. This stuff is going to the dump soon, I need it out of the way. If you don't want it now, fine, just let me know.

oh s***......sorry.

26159 is my zip:p

the cracks are fine

Red dash pad and bezel for one, no waiting. All packed and ready to ship, operators are standing by. Did you get my PM?

Never heard from the guy that wanted the glovebox either, it's also ready to ship.

yea.......i just now seen it. with my divorce my life is all over the place. How much $ you need? Just let me know

Bump for @A Thibodeaux .

Sounds like a hidden nut in center may be your culprit.

Good luck getting your dash removed without damage!

It’s only been 8 years + since the last post here, so I’m hoping he found that nut by now!

yep, that was totally the culprit, and boy did I ever get my yoga workout for the year getting to that 10mm nut! My goal is to get to the evap core, and it's looking like I'll be removing even more stuff under there?! any input on this would be greatly appreciated!
