I love seeing this!Aha! I thought this looked familiar. I saw this truck in person near the Tetons a few years ago. Gorgeous.

This is great. I’ve often thought about just flipping the shock tower to the other side. Proof that it works!I run a scout box which is a similar setup. I ground the shock tower a bit and moved it back. The rear rivet hole is now the frt hole on the tower. I reversed the shock pin. I welded nuts to a scab platesView attachment 4096223View attachment 4096224 and slid them in the frame so the tower is bolted on. My radiator support was moved to the passenger side to center the stk shroud with the sbc's fan, so i didn't need to scab the outside of the frame.
I haven’t forgot, just haven’t gotten that far. Is the bearing you supplied supposed to attach from the firewall side, or the inside steering column? My fire wall hole was much smaller than the small side of the bearing. That is starting to look more like it..
Don’t forget the support bearing on the firewall bracket!
This is what I did on my 40, but @cruisermatt supplied a bearing in his kit and I’m planning to use that.Instead of mounting an external bearing, you can slide a bearing inside of the column tube and on to the steering shaft. Heres a screen shot of bearing parts #'s.
Its just a little cleaner. Every lawn mower repair shop has them. View attachment 4096711
I’ll flip them for final install. That was just a test fit.Trim x-member bolts or flip long side up
I actually have the safety bolt! You didn’t forget, it’s floating around my workbench somewhere.looking great! Don't let me forget to put the steering column safety bolt in the mail for you Monday. I have the OEM frame bolts for the steering box as well if you want.
Woah, for once I forgot something and actually did it right?!I actually have the safety bolt! You didn’t forget, it’s floating around my workbench somewhere

If anyone lost it, it was me! I’ll double check I can find it tomorrow but I know I unpacked it. The parts and tool explosion in my shop is teetering out of control…Woah, for once I forgot something and actually did it right?!![]()
