Jose,
Did you just use the one bolt to hold the bracket in place or did you use somehthing to hold it in up top too?

Nope, just one bolt. It's not going anywhere.

Think I'm going to do this today. The A/C shop that just fixed my system said they "couldn't" do it. Hopefully I don't screw it up. Thanks.

Wired up the little LED pods I recently added (under the light bar). You can also see the true color of the 4300K HIDs. I can't stand blue lights so this color is perfect.

Those are some great driveway action shots. Really shows the capability of the 80 when it comes to illuminating your garage door. The 37s help a lot with that too

Yeah I know, sorry. Wish I had your fab skills so perhaps one day I could be as narcissistic.

fixed that for you :)

you just need to stop fixing things that aren't broken and focus on breaking things

Na, I think you just like to be a dick on the internets. :)

This is the Tech section after all right? I seem to be amassing quite the collection of groupie haters lately. Guess I'll have to scale back on posting to my build thread. Anywho, you coming to the Gold Lakes camping trip? A few of us we'll be doing Snake Lake. Not as cool as your Hollister obstacle course but should be fun.

It would be fun but I've got another one of my progeny on the way. So I am going to be driveway wheelin myself soon for a while. Maybe I will make a set of tube doors or something.

Jose, those lights look really nice.

Don't mind the haters, they are most likely just goofing around with you. 80% of these goons couldn't pick a proper line through the rocks if they had to. LOL. Especially the ones talking s***.

Your truck is coming along nicely and I am enjoying seeing the mods so please don't stop.

If you don't mind can you post the exact ones you bought from ebay? so to run those I just need to purchase the ebay lenses and then some HID kits? Are the headlight ebay lenses properly made to project HID's? I have heard this can be an issue if the lenses are not made to project the hid light properly? anymore info you may have would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Noah

Ah I know, it's just the ways of the internet. I've been on all sorts of forums for over a decade so I know how it goes. Doesn't bother me, no different than a group of guys drinking beers and talking crap in person.

Re: headlights, thanks! I really like them too. They actually put out a lot more light than the OEM lights. These are the ones I bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/310975216240?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 These use different bulbs so if you want to use them with the stock bulbs you'll need to do something with the harness to convert them over. There's threads about that here. I didn't bother looking into it since I already had HIDs.

In theory, you're not supposed to run HIDs in a non-HID headlight. This topic causes some massive arguments on the internet and sand comes pouring out of vaginas. I even heard that HID debates are one of the main causes of spontaneous human combustion. They say if you put HIDs in a non-HID headlight Satan will be resurrected and kittens will die all because you didn't think of the children. So I won't even go there. The ideal way is to run projectors, but MEH. With the 4300K HIDs I have they don't even look like HIDs. The color isn't irritating and last night I spent a good amount of time aiming them. Drove around a bit and checked to see that the light wasn't being thrown into people's windshields. Ended up lowering them a good 4-5" from how they came out of the box.

So yeah, I'm one of the assholes that runs HIDs in a reflector housing. But at least I'm a considerate a****** because I aim them a bit lower

Thanks for that I guess. Ha ha.

How heavy is your rack? I've got a lot of 1.5" .095wall tubing. I tried .065. it won't bend properly, it caves in and kinks, or even splits the seam(hrew).

I'll probably get a RTT eventually so my rack sides will need to be high enough to protect it. A base tube frame and then upper rails built off this. This means double the tubing(and weight)...

At this stage you see here it weighed 67.6lbs, 1" OD .120 wall tubing. After all was said and done it came out to about 90lbs with the extra tubing and floor. 1.5" tubing...isn't that huge for a roof rack?

DOH! That was actually from a Windows computer...figures

My flat rack is built out of .065" wall 1.25" for the perimeter and .065" wall 1" tube for the cross bars. Whole thing weights about 60lbs IIRC

I'm not a fan of putting heavy items on the roof, so I didn't overbuild and just used three gutter clamps per side.

I knew there was I reason I liked you Jose, I'm an assh*le too. But like you I'm some what considerate.
Just ordered a set of those headlights too. I wish you'd quite buying sh*t for your cruiser because then I see it and say hey I want that too. Then of course I buy it and then get yelled at by the Mrs. Oh well, we all gotta die from something. :skull:
