Busy day........

Cooper S/T Maxx arrived -------285/75/16

Tough Dog lift arrived --------MONSTER 53mm bore (70mm casings) fronts and 45mm 9 stage adjustable rears, I spec'd the mid-weight coils (1-300KG or 660#) 33mm TBs (compared to 29.5mm OEM) w/ reinforcement brackets for the TBs. Tough Dog is seeing quite a few TB bracket cracks/tears so they designed these support brackets. Cheap insurance regardless.

More done on the rear bumper-------I should have the wings bent and tacked up tomorrow. Then onto the arms.

This is a awesome thread for me to catch up and learn on what your doing as I am looking to get a LC100 myself. How do you like the harrop front diff locker with those tires?

Jason, I'm really jealous of the TD setup. Looks amazing. I know we had talked about the shocks for my rig, but purpose and cashflow dictated OEM replacements for the time being (got them at $35/corner from the dealership, can't beat that). So I know you're not fully loaded, but what are your hub-fender measurements at this point?

Can't wait to see the green Monstaliner.

After another 119 miles today on the HD TourFlex rear suspension:

Front 21.50" (adjusted and it has settled out) and the rear is at 23.50". I threw 320# of Sacrete in the back to see where the measurement ended up and after about 45 miles I was at 22.875". I'm positive I'll have slightly more than that once the build is complete but I can say that I was/am happy with the ride 320# lighter as well. The extra weight just made everything feel more settled in and smoother.

I'm stoked about the 1-3/8" rake.... Steering is very responsive. No bump steer, no torque steer and it brakes exceptionally well. I still need to swap out the stock pads for the Akebono Pro Ceramics, but it can only get better.

All highway, interstate and county roads today. With the extra weight I'm actually liking Stage 7 (what TD recommended from the get go for highway....) I'll try and get some dirt and BLM tomorrow and report back on that adjustment.

Rack and sliders need one more coat and will be ready to install.

My order of LO-PRO rack mounts will be here sometime next week and I'll be able to get those out to a few of you.

Got the sliders on this morning and then ordered all the DOM, CrMo jack screws, Johnny Joints and bushings for the rear lower and upper arms. All will be fully adjustable.

Got the spare diff support out and will start dissecting/measuring and making a new diff drop in the next few day.

Rack is on. Extremely happy with the new mounts and the low profile. Approx. 5/8" off the highest ridge. I weigh 260# and standing on the center of that crossbar I still have 1/2" of clearance. I can live with 1/8" of deflection over a 50" span of 1" tube all day long. The light bar is about 3/8" off the roof.

Still need to do all my wiring and add the rear rack lights as well.

Thanks guys.

Next week is going to be busy getting all the tailgate lids out (53 units....). But, I should have all my components for the rear control arms (upper and lower) received and might get them started. Uppers 1.5" x .250"- DOM and for the Lowers 1.75" x .313" DOM. (I bought enough materials and components for 4 complete sets, maybe someone else will want a set...HA!) 2.5" x 1.00" Currie Johhny Joints for the lowers and all 4130 CrMo tube ends and jack screws for the uppers. Fixed ends are 2" x .250" DOM poly bushings and all ends are greasable.

Rear panhard bar will be a ToughDog adjustable. I can't build it for my cost on this unit..

I think I'm going to make a bolt on lower skid for the front lower joints.

The diff drop pieces are all laid out, just need to get them cut and welded up. If my geometry is correct it will yield a 15/16" drop. My buddy is making all the spacers for me. If it goes well I will start offering these in a kit with new HD boots and misc other front rebuild components (while you're in there).

Still undecided on the front UCAs - but Nitro is still the front runner.

Then onto the front Harrop e-locker, dual battery set up and rear drawers. After that I should be pretty close to done for a while with large projects.

I wonder it your thinking of putting some sort of sealant bead down between the tailgate and the lid?

Got most of my parts in to make the new Trail Tailor "FLEX" and "ULTI-FLEX" adjustable upper and lower control arms..

Also, as of today I'm a Currie Enterprise dealer... let me know if anyone needs anything.

Standard FLEX Uppers will be 1.5" x .250" DOM w/ CrMo tube adapters and 3/4-16 jack screw w/ greasable poly fixed ends
Standard FLEX Lowers will be 1.75" x .250" DOM w/ 2.5" x 1"-14 Currie Johnny Joints, CrMo tube adapters w/greasable poly fixed ends

OR an ULTI-FLEX setup with Johnny Joint and screw jack for UCAs..

I'm planning to make both uppers and lowers have a 25mm (~1" +/-) adjustment. I will also be make a JJ adjustable panhard as well.

Did you indicate you were going to make up some of these for purchase?

I'll be making a run of these for the 100s first then the 80s. But, need to get all the tailgate lids out first.

Not sure on price, but should be close to MTs price or slightly lower on the standard units. The others will be higher of course. Just need to spend some time with the calculator this weekend.

Which are you interested in?

Jason, I have a couple questions. Did you buy new UCA? I just installed a new OME lift on my 98 and my camber is maxed out and still not all the way in spec.

2nd question, do you make the roof rack mounts? I'm getting ready to build a roof rack for my 100 and I need it as low profile as possible so I can fit in a standard garage door. Right now with the factory roof rack, it will fit but just barely. If you make them, what is the cost? I probably need 6. If not, where did you buy yours?

One more, what kind of price on the Come Up winches?

Here's a pic of my new build. I bought a OME lift from Kurt and put some new Nitto TG in 295/75R16. Next is sliders, front and rear bumpers, and roof rack.

Your 100 is looking great. Love that rear bumper!

*I will be buying the Nitro UCAs for mine. Not sure where I'm at on the front end, but mine drives as good as it did stock. If I'm out... its not by much.

*Yes, I have the Lo-Pro mounts in stock (bare metal)

*ComeUp winches are priced in my Cruiser Mart webstore and can purchase there as well. Just click on the link in my signature line. Let me know if you have questions on any of them. Happy to help you choose the right one for your needs and budget.

Thanks for the compliment. It has been a fun build. I'm getting to know the 100 pretty well. I'll get to know them more once I start the 160 canopy build/s (100 chassis and powertain with a 60 body)

PM you on the mounts, they are not up on the store yet.

Made a few calls and seems no one wants to sell me a diff drop.... SO.. I'll build my own! :flipoff2:

So... you know what I say... Build one... build a few more.....

J

Curious about this. Why wouldn't anyone sell you the diff drop? Are they only selling as part of a full lift kit?

I have a diff drop and was underneath the land cruiser today replacing the front skid plate that Discount Tires used as a jack point. Also had to remove the rear/mid heavy plastic skid plate and twisted off the two bolts that secure the skid plate to the diff drop. After removing the skid plate I noticed the diff drop coating was peeling with corrosion, and suspect the corrosion may have been the cause of the two bolts seizing up. Seemed odd that the diff drop coating would flake off as badly as it was. I don't think there is a huge urgency to do so, but with the corrosion, I thought I'd work towards replacing the diff drop.

I came across your post when doing some research on diff drop options. Curious why you have not been able to purchase just a diff drop and am now wondering if I'll have the same issue.
