Equipment you carry daily?

I'm a big fan of Levi 505's, I keep my Leatherman Micra and a pair of nail clippers in the watch pocket, wallet in the left hip pocket, hankey in the right hip pocket, car keys front right, cash and misc junk in left front. Cell is in a holster on the right front pocket.

Of course my EDC is a lot lighter than some who have posted to this thread.:grinpimp:

Let's see some pics!

Spiderco H1 pocket knife and a Hohner Blues Harp.

what I carry will always fluctuate depending on the day, but I've always got those on hand.

it was a general comment. not directed at pics of your jeans hahahahahahah

You really don't want to see pictures of my jeans do you?:grinpimp:

I think he actually wants pics of you in your jeans.

Glad to see EDC forums were mentioned.

I'm still putting together the bag for my truck...in fact this thread has renewed that urgency to get it done.

I'm a minimalist who works in a office setting, so I usually travel pretty light. The Cruiser is really never more than 30 ft away at home or at work.

My personal EDC:

Black Kershaw Leek (serrated)
Stainless Steel Phenix LD01 (80 lum I believe from a AAA)
Koyono SlimSlimmy Wallet with only bare essentials (ID, debit, CC, health ins, and work security card)
CountyComm Key ring with LC key and house key. Paracord lanyard.
Blackberry
Usually a black bullet Fisher space pen, but I lost it so for now I have a pocket Zebra F-301

And MY NEW FAVORITE:
Marathon TSAR...love the tritium!

Thanks for the addition, and if you would not mind posting up some more info on the said watch? I have been on the fence for awhile on the TSAR, due to the size, and would like some real world give-and-take on it as a daily piece.

Thanks,

Van

FYI-

Wearsabrowncoat clued me in on a great pack for the rig with convienent attachment that can add a simple carrying hook to the PS head rest, which is where I plan to relocate some of my essential gear that is not readily available from the tuffy center console.

BlackHawk 3-Day Assault Back Pack Black FREE S&H 603D00BK, 603D00DE. BlackHawk Carrying Bags.

Reviewing some of the threads and noticed a trend with some who care self-defense ink pens. Looks like there are many to choose from and range in cost. Is the thought here to use the pen where you can not carry a knife, obviously it is not for cutting rather then gouging, etc... Looking for real world examples of the use for the self-defense pen. Found this on google:

Self Defense Pen Ballpoint Ink

Thanks,

personally I feel that the self defense pen is worthless and a waste of money. Unless you're intending to use it as a glass breaker, then a regular 5cent bic will work just as well, or if you're fancy then a $15 space pen.
A scribe would be cheaper and work better as well when you don't have to travel through security. Many security stations are getting hip to the "defense" pens too, and yes they will take them from you.
They're more of a novalty rather than essential gear.

just my 2cents

DH,

That is exactly what I am looking for and good information. Maybe you could help prioritize gear that is essential and could pass through security. I have lost a good knife because of my own carelessness to scanners and have had to "hide" a knife while visiting museums in DC. I understand common sense is king here, but with your experience how would you travel prepared given today's security against terror?

Well, I'm not going to post up how to smuggle gear through security, but can offer up What I'd prioritize as essential.
Identification
Communication device, pen with paper
Footwear that you can run in. No high heels or flip flops.
A small enough multitool that you will actually carry and allowed. As simple or complex as you wish/need.
Length of chord/rope/550 on your person. Eg: shoe laces, bracelet, key/ID fob, etc...
Some cash

You can stash gear if you need to, as I have also with DC security. You'll also be surprised what they'll let you in with if you're polite.
If I keep talking then this thread will turn into a security protocol thread and explain the many ways to manipulate your environment.

LOL! Not trying to smuggle anything just be prepared so I do not lose any more gear.... And manipulating our environment is exactly what we are trying to achieve here- right? Or, at least by being prepared! As always thanks for the dedicated information and the professional delivery. I feel a little better prepared to be within the security parameters at airports, etc... and my own preparedness.

Yeah, I just saw the oportunity.:D

but you're right, pics of the hardware in question always makes a thread more interesting. Soon as I find the memory card for my camera, I'll share some of the tools I keep around, and some shots of my pet harmonicas.

What's always in my truck:
Channel-locks (2 pair)
Wire strippers/crimpers and a handfull of connectors. (I need to resupply)
Ice-pick light
Screwdriver (the multi-head one)
10' wire, tape
Box wrenches
Linemans's pliers
Fuses, switches, lights, plugs, pigtails.
Hunting knife
.22 cal. shells (I just never bothered to take them out from my last trip)
Crystal Brand Hot Sauce
MRE's
Park Ranger Jacket
Fedora
Canteen
6-7 Gideon's Bibles - my collection.

Forgot to mention earlier:
Hashi (chop sticks) my favorite utensil. My sister gave me a pack of 6 sets for my birthday, I keep 'em behind my visor in the pen-strap.

Until Tubig posted, I was thinking my "Every Day Carry" items were coming up a bit short. The items that I have on my person every day pretty much without fail are:

Zippo lucky clover lighter (Because a man should have an easy way to start a fire)

A Case folder given to me by a long time friend (I was at my first cattle branding and they asked if I had a pocket knife? Well sure I reply, and with that I presented my old Emerson tanto folder. The Edward Scissor hands comments start and next thing you know, I have a true pocket knife as a gift. Used for menial knife tasks.

An Al Mar automatic folder

A Glock 26 (To keep my time piece)

My Rollie (Love that time piece)

A challenge coin (Because bar tabs run high without it)

iPhone

A money clip with cash

Usually I have a pen and a surefire, but that's the point the wife starts in with the sh?t talking.

TSAR is not too big at all. Smaller than a Seiko Monster, about the same sizr as their regular diver.

Check out "What watch are you wearing thread....some pics over there"
