I think I got this around the time they came out 1983 or 1984.

The only down side is I have no excuse to get a newer cooler one.

For a long time I got by - most college friends - with my old school Leatherman 200 Cruiser/home key and perhaps some gum.

Now the Leatherman Surge is right hip, Coast LED on the left, keys, gum in altoid tin, Kroger kleenx small pack, ear buds for the phone, Kershaw Knife & wallet. Not sure I want to know how much it all weighs but the Carhartt leather belt does a decent job. Thinking of a small med kit somehow with bandaids tape some gel & ? Or just build a small leg pack.

I am learning through various daily scenario, redundancy is a good way to ensure you have what you need and limit some of the extra "stuff" we carry on your person. I have managed to simplify my EDC to the following:

Person-
Single blade knife
Survival bracelet
Sharpie
iPhone

Key ring-
LED tactical light
Utility key
Large Mil spec safety pin

Wallet-
Band aids
Condom
Ibuprofen

This list is largely offset with a go bag in the truck and further supported by home preparedness. EDC for my personal use is an outline I can drill down through, and to the best if my experience be prepared.
