How far apart are the headrest posts? Are the front and back seat posts the same width? I am currently separated from my rig or I would go measure myself. One of the new vendors is designing some gear (unfortunately marketed toward the FJ-Cruisers and heeps) but it might work for an 80 : https://forum.ih8mud.com/springtail-solutions/448120-mpac-back-pack-hook-seat-back.html

I have been looking at some of his other gear and hope he expands his line or at least have another vendor come up with some similar goodies for the 80. Nakman you out there?

I dont have a measurement but I do know the front and back seat headrests are interchangeable..

Ah, I went out in the snow and measured. The posts are 6 1/4" apart (outside edges of the posts) and the posts look to be 5 or 6/16 dia (eyeballed it w a measuring tape).

I've been using a bungee cord to hang stuff there. You could probably make something similar without too much fuss. I've been thinking about swapping out or somehow modifying the head rest so it sits higher for us taller folks for those long trips and to prevent whiplash in the event of a accident.

Thanks for measuring. I'll give or specs to springtail.

Good work Micah! Very interested in this idea. Are they using a nylon or rubber insert to sleeve the holes to help prevent vibaration chatter?

Good question. I'll ask.

I've been happy with the quality and features of Blackhawk backpacks. My favorite size is the 3 day assault.

My plan for these hooks would be for the third row for grocery bags and maybe one for the passenger side for a pack so I can reach back from the drivers seat and have access. If they end up at less than $20 I may get them for all 6 headrests.
