Speaking of which, I need to go pick up foam. Did you just place foam on all four sides? The radiator in there had nothing.

IIRC I did all 4 sides on the shroud side. The factory should of had it at the top on the front side for peak performance.

So turns out I'm just dumb. The hood was hitting the hood latch which wasn't in the right place since the core support plate was removed. Doh!

Radiator is bolted down. Got weatherstrip all around and both sides. With the new rad, the blades at rest are 1.125" away from the fins. So unless this blade can flex THAT much, I don't see the point of worrying about damage. I could painfully be proven otherwise. :(

I've seen Beno flex his stock fan into the stock radiator, so it can and does happen.

That goes without saying. His motor mounts were probably trashed so the motor prolly lurched forward :p

Actually, it was the quicksand! We had to winch him out before he sank.

Alright fellow RD rad installers, what in the hell did you source for the trans cooler lines in the radiator? Stock used 3/8" nipples. Ron Davis decided on M14x1.0 compression fittings. WTF?!

What did the three of you do?

Fxxx me! So it turns out that the stock radiator comes with M14 x 1.0 threaded hoses that feed the transmission. When K&H replaced the radiator with an aftermarket pile of s*** (I wasn't in town to yell at them), they snipped off the fittings because the aftermarket radiator came with 3/8" nipples. Now that I have the RD radiator that has been duplication EXACT to OEM, I need those fittings again. These fittings at that size are unobtainium. ARRGHHH!

I'm stuck now. Its literally the LAST thing I need to do and I can start driving this truck again. I have everything else buttoned up. Shoot me!!!

Suggestions? I'm on eterna-hold with CDAN now trying to see about getting these hoses :(

They are just little fittings that the hose push fits on to. Anyone who has pulled off a radiator should have 2 on the old radiator.

I had a set, and went and looked in the garage and can't find them, but if they come to light, I'll let you know.

Someone must be parting an 80 that could pull these off for you.

SOR to the rescue!!!!

CDAN can get but it would take almost a week to get to me. SOR took them off a junked 80 radiator. $24 for both. Only 4x what OEM price but you know what? Happy as hell to pay it!

Oh so last bit of headache...

Ron Davis added the little tabs on bottom to lock in the bottom of the shroud. But the tabs are completely off to one side of both tabs. This means the shroud sits out and close to the drive belts. I can run it in park but I can't drive it yet like this. Short of drilling holes and adding a bolt/nut on either side, I can't think of a way to pinch the shroud to the radiator. A tad frustrating.
