I am a big guy 6'5", I was wondering if any of you other tall 62 owners out there have thought about removing the foot rest on the driver side to give your leg some extra room to stretch. Is it just empty space under there? Grinder and a cut off wheel, then weld in a patch maybe? Idk chime in if you have any ideas or experiences, I love my cruiser I'd like to be as comfy as possible!

From what I remember it's just floor under it and a bolt holding it in. Nothing to cut or patch... Someone correct me if I am wrong.

AFAIR it is just bolted down to the floorboard. people remove them to install the clutch pedal when doing an H55 install.

Yes, it's just bolts.

I put BMW 3 series power seats with the Torfab brackets. Now the seat goes back so far I can't drive with it all the way back. It was bolt in on the seats. Just a wire to power them is all that is needed if you don't want to heat them.

I removed mine and filled the 'hole' with a 1" thick slab of hard rubber I had lying around, so that the floor is flat/level.

As much as I like a 'dead pedal' in most vehicles, I really have enjoyed not having it in my FJ62. You can now stretch out your left leg - just like in an FJ60. Buy a large rubber floormat, and it will almost cover the spot where this dead pedal was.

i took mine out for h55 upgrade. heaps more leg room. it'll just leave you without carpet in that area as it's bare metal under it. maybe you could find an old carpet locally and cut a chunk out
