Do you cut his hair? I've cut my female cattle dog's hair twice and she looked black like your August for a long time, but now that its been over a year since I cut it last, she is much more white/grey now. They say cattle dogs shouldn't be cut because of their double coat and something to do with temperature regulation, but I prefer a shorter coat on my dogs and I can't see how trimming them would cause issues in the temperate climate I live in.

Never have cut his locks. 6 years old this past… wait for it… August.

@RevISK Clementine is the heeler. She was pretty old in this picture (12 or 13). She was a good heeler.
