Ben, sorry to hear about the hard time getting folks to keep their word! I'm on the list of those who can't wait to place the order but waiting on funds to make the commitment! For sure I want to have it mounted on the truck by spring but for now it's just wishful thinking!
Camping next to you guys helped a lot, the time your wife and Sarah spent together got her to get onboard with the build a bit deeper and planing more trips as well! Best of luck to you guys!

BTW, do you have plans of coming down to Pismo for the Turf N Surf in november? (11th - 13th) You guys should come! Bring a group from over there! Show off your stuff and we can get the families together!
Thanks Paulo! I assume funds are the biggest reason they are backing out and I understand but a message saying so would be nice. It was great camping next to you guys and glad we could help ;)

As much as I woul love to I don't think we will be able to swing it this year, we are planing to make a trip up to Carl at nitro for a regear on the Tacoma around the same time.

Sucks folks haven't kept their word to you Ben.

If you have excess inventory this may be an opportunity though, to set up a few dealers strategically placed across the country and have them to stock 1 or 2 units to sell and install from to create an on going business for you.

I'm sorry if it has been asked before.

Would this bumper be available in a diy kit? I only ask because I'm up in the great white north and our peso is crap....

Id be a test mule...:D
Sorry no more DIY kits. This is a pretty complicated bumper and requires everything fitting perfectly to work. It would be very difficult to get together without the propper jigs.

man, just circling back to this after a while away from the forums. sorry to hear about all the people not responding after committing, hopefully now that summer has come to an end and families are getting back into a routine and kids in school, so maybe you'll hear from more folks shortly.

bonus for me, it bumps me from 33rd to 16th!

That's annoying that so many people are blowing you off Ben. I think maybe the reason people are hesitating is not being able to see a final product. I know that was my only hesitation, but I trust that you'll come up with some awesome stuff for the second swingout based on the quality and ingenuity of the bumper itself and tire swingout.

I so wish I have the money right now..

People like Ben need to be patronize and support it, not only because the physical object that you are getting but because his overall vision brings the whole community forward..

In short the dude is freaking smart.

B,

Unfortunately this is the way of the fab world, especially on new designs. I've found that 60-70% of people that say they are interested will ever come through on a purchase. When you do get a hold of them, they will usually say they had to do "x, y or z" on their rig etc... Due to early on experiences I never put anyone on the list anymore unless they have a deposit/full payment in place.

40 guys on a 2500$ product sounds great.... but, money out of pocket to produce all the components and a hope they all come through on just a statement... its frustrating.

Sorry this has happened to you. But, its the way it is and I don't ever see it changing.

Good luck buddy,

J

FWIW, I am not in the market as I am already very happy with my rear bumper, but if I were I wouldn't make a firm commitment until I saw at least renderings of the accessories. I know you've given a verbal description, but the functionality and benefit of the rear bumper comes from all the crap you can bolt onto it, and I'd want to make sure it all worked as I wanted before pulling out the Amex card.

Just $.02 All of your work thus far looks great and has gotten rave reviews, just putting this out there as another possible holdup for a few folks.

Benc as we get closer to the holiday season this may get worse, I would say tell committed folks to pay up. Oh ya and bump me up :hillbilly:

Yeah, I'm used to it with other markets just not this one, my experience with the fronts has been the opposite, out of 100 bumpers only 1 has flaked.

i understand that it is tough pulling the trigger on a high price item without seeing the final product but most have been made awar that the accessories will be a little further down the road. Most have seen that I don't rush anything to market and will not relese a product until it is exactly what I want it to be, this is my reason for not rushing the accessories arm, I want it to be like nothing currently on the market and I feel the bumper shows that.
Again, I didn't expect all to order that are on the list but I did expect a reply, a few guys have contacted me and let me know either they don't have the funds now or they had to purchase a different bumper due to timing and that is much appreciated!
The bumpers will sell either way and I'm not worried I will have any problems getting rid of them,

At this point the list is just going to be reorganized, there have been several new orders that have paid that are not on the list at all.

I do want to say thank you to all that have contacted me and have paid! Thanks for your patience and sticking it out with me! It's been a long wait but you will not be disappointed!
Even if the first order is only 25-30 that is sill huge and I am very grateful to each and every one that have purchased a front or rear bumper!
At this point with all the support from this forum and the people here it is not a matter if but when I start doing this full time. I have big plans for products on the 100 series and realize I can not make them happen with a full time job.
I have some really cool ideas for the accessorie arm but I don't want to say to much yet,
Soon I should have some prototypes.

Not sure if I have posted any good pics of the internals of the bumper but here are a few of one I built today assembled off the vehicle.
All brackets are made of 1/4 inch and there are a total of 14 bolts that atach to the frame. The cross member is 3/16 wall 2x2 tube, these pics shoud ease any concerns of towing with this bumper!
