Did a shakedown wheeling run ahead of this summers expedition and got to really exercise the skids. They did their job!

When I took them off yesterday I found that about half of the hex head bolts were bent. I stripped one out in the process. Some of the flush mount washer are also pretty boogered.

Two questions:

(1) Has anyone else run into this? Any new hardware recommendations that won't get bent everytime you run over some rocks?
I'm looking at: McMaster-Carr

(2) A good source for more of the washers?

Can you take a pic of yours? I have the countersunk flat head option @rjones calls out on page 11. So far they’ve held up well.

I’ve attached a similar item but not the actual one I’m running. I can’t find my exact one.

I too took my skids for a beating last month, and they held up great. I did manage to lose bolts and the square washers for the rear skid, so currently only running the front two. Anyone else have to replace those yet?

That's probably because you put the nuts on upside down. Ask me how I know :bang:
If I can get my hands up there I'll just use a normal nut, if not I guess I'll try to press some nuts like the originals.

@WickedPickle That's what I was talking about. I have whatever Ben sent with the skids. Those look like a good enough option to me.
@rjones thanks for the link back to that post, I forgot about that.

My skids also took a beating recently in death valley and I have a couple of bent bolts too, so I'll monitor this thread to see what you guys come up with. The washboard had them all backing out after a full day so luckily I had some loctite on me and that did the trick, all bolts are staying nice and tight.

These plates saved me from some serious damage, very happy with them. Here is what happened after the plates: What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Those are for the sides of the front skid if the 4th skid is installed.
These allow the the skid to be installed over the bumper tie in for ease of removal for service.
Installed my skids this morning and all went well except for the pieces referenced above. I used the bumper tie in and it doesn’t seem to need the pieces? What am I missing? Could someone post a photo of these 2 pieces installed so I can get this figured out. Thanks!

Are these the pieces you are asking about?

Best I could take quickly. Let me know.

Cheers and a Happy 4th of July to you,

Ahh. Those pieces go here:

Zoomed all the way into the right side of the first image. I seem to recall that @benc said not everyone would need these or maybe they're not needed if you have a body lift... Can't remember exactly.

Thanks. I’ve got everything tied together and it seems fine without them. I’ll look in to it a little deeper. Thanks again!

Similar to the images 5-6 posts above or are you looking for something different?

So this is what I got with my bumper. I don’t see the skid plate but this wouldn’t be the first time I can’t see something right in front of me.

I do not see that bumper to skid plate connector either in the photos you have there.

So I don't want to speak for @benc or his operations but I don't think they ship the bumper to skid connector piece with the bumper package by default. Remembering back to the beginnings of this thread that piece was supposed to ship with the skid plate package when confirmed that you had previously ordered a Dissent bumper.

Did you have a different agreement with them? If so disregard the above!!

Cheers,
