Couple quick notes, incase anyone else starts at the end of the thread (like I do on long threads). I also used some larger grade 8 washers for the rear 4 bolts. You expand the rear most hole in the frame on each side to 11/16th with a step bit. Its not tough. Also the nutplates orient "up", not down through the holes.

These side mount on the front skid wouldn't make contact with the frame. Probably just manufacturing tolerances and no biggie, but I added some grade 8 washers so they weren't just floating.

Should be able to just tighten that bolt and get that gap removed

I used this (the rectangular shim/spacer) which came with the unlabeled plastic bag.

Mid way during install I have a couple questions:

1. which holes do the 2 long screw go
2. which screw and support goes in the middle center hole of the front skid? there seems to be a space between the skid and the chassis.

Thanks!

You only need the two long screws if you do not have a diff drop installed. The long screws provide enough purchase with the spacers installed.

Dissent aluminum skid plate with ARB Deluxe Bumper. No gap.... I promise.

Trying to install these skids on a 2006 LX with ARB deluxe bumper and am running in to clearance issues on the front skid:

I'm able to fasten the rear-most bolts and the recessed middle bolt, but the gap gets progressively larger towards the front of the vehicle. Tried shifting the plate front to back, but it didn't have much of any effect. The front-most, side mounting point on the skid looks to be contacting the rear portion of the ARB bumper "box" where the front recovery points would be mounted.

Were the skids re-designed at some point?

Seems the only options now are to notch the skid and/or bumper bracket (neither option is super appealing) or pony up for a proper, Dissent front bumper.
Thanks for any tips/suggestions on how to proceed.

Images below of the same location give or take. Total height of that vertical piece on mine is ~35mm. Second measurement is from frame rail to top of vertical piece. Length of that same piece ~90mm. Yours does look a little different, almost like that vertical piece has an angle back towards rear of vehicle. Mine did ship with the spacers seen in the photos but that does not look like it would help your issue.

For a full comparison here - Dissent first generation front bumper and I do not have a diff drop.

Let me know if you would like any other measurements. Also, have you called Dissent? At one point they had a guy helping on the CS side of things who was really helpful (@GatorBait1551 or @kem maybe? Do not remember).

Good luck.

Cheers!

Wow. Thanks a ton for the measurements and comparison pictures.
I'll take a closer look tomorrow to see how they compare.

Good eye @rjones
The leading edge is angled back now and the rest of the measurements appear relatively close to yours.

Dissent support got back confirming I'd need to notch the skid in order to clear the ARB bumper.
Decided to add some spacers up front as a stop-gap solution, until I commit to either retrofit the skid or replace the bumper.

Thanks again for your help on this rjones. It's much appreciated.

I didn't read all 22 pages...do these skids have a hole or otherwise allow for the middle front bottle jack point to be used, like the OEM front skid does?
