when did you ordered? Have you received them yet? My source from Dubai confirm that those 90915-20004 there are made in Thailand, in fact I have one in hand from there that is made in Thailand 3 months ago. You may know something that I don't.
I contacted the link I sent you and went on and on about want OEM Mr T not the Thai one. I was assured it was and if not satisfied they would pay shipping back and refund. It was like 8 days ago. There was a guy on here that posted the link so my dumbass stayed up all night OCD'ing about these that I do not need but now cannot live without. My wife is so pissed off every time she sees me on mud. I will let folks know which ones I get.

I'd love to get in to a debate with anyone regarding the failings of NCLB but I won't here.

As for the J Filters v T Filters I thought this has been put to rest. Just like the coolant debate. J filters are better. Green coolant is better. End of discussion. If you don't want to wait for the J Filters or can't find the the Wix 51515 is an acceptable substitute.

Now, can we go back to discussing important 80 tech? My new camelback water bottle slides all over my passenger seat and sweats. Yes, I have waterproof seat covers but the water just puddles in the seat and then someone sits in it. Can someone design cupholders with the absorbent stones in the bottom? :flipoff2:

Finger cross that is the Japan version. Do keep us update. Yes I can feel you, my wife used to pissed at me seeing me have my eyes glue on the screen all night. And now I have a good excuse since it is business LOL!! :D

So if I wrote Chink vs Jap made filters.... I wonder what out oriental counterparts on here would think.

All I know if someone called me either to my face they would be picking their teeth up off the floor.

You can add Oriental to that list

There are no oriental counterparts here... Asian is correct... I made that mistake 20 plus years ago and got my head ripped off by my roommates girl friend who was half Korean.. She said describing somebody as oriental is extremely offensive... it is meant to describe art, furniture, rugs etc.. I have never forgotten that and glad I still have my teeth.. That's how upset she was!!!

These people need to go to colorado, smoke some pot, and watch some Patrice O'neal.

Nowhere near his best stuff, but a primer:

NOT SAFE FOR WORK

who cares about lousy oil filters...! They're all the same. Heck, a roll of toilet paper in an old coffee will be just as good... :D

5150s are good, however they can be a pain to get out. Make sure the engine is warm to remove it. I tighten by hand and oil the seal.

Learned the hard way with a strap wrench and my temp gauge reads cold all the time.

I grew up in a Japanese neighborhood or so I thought. I was later corrected: "we are not japs, but okinowians." It don't think they meant it as derogatory. I'm just a Saltine.. (A bland white cracker) but I prefer to be called Mukiwa.

So the bottom line is that the Thai made ones are inferior?

I'm not necessarily sure this is the case. There is, realistically, probably not a great deal of difference in functionality betwixt the two. The Thai one looks less restrictive and should have more surface area, and in theory trap more dirt. However, I am still a new mechanic - I'm applying what I know about fluid flow to this problem.

Also, talking about politics on a car forum will give you a permanent beer allergy. It's true, a doctor told me. You have been warned.

I like how we've reached the point in this thread where half the people are trying to push towards a race/politics discussion and the other half are trying to actually make something of this thread/themselves. Then there are assholes like me who just do neither. Welp see ya.

Now somebody needs to cut one of the fancy AC Delco filters apart...the comparison pic was just the regular AC Delco filter.

Clearly everyone is racist but me.

And since when did nationality = race? I have an African American friend who was able to get his bachelors and masters for free because he's African American. He was born in Ethiopia to American medical relief workers. He has blond hair, blue eyes, and dual citizenship. Everyone in admin just makes assumptions about his race due to his nationality. Hilarious. Not all Americans are yanks and not all Indians own shares in casinos.

Glad we weren't discussing Nippondenso.........

The filter media looks so different I'm not sure that we can assume the thai-made filter is less restrictive.. obviously if the japanese-made was the same paper media with as few pleats as it has, sure.. but it looks completely different.
