Took daughter for her first proper speed ride in the trailer today as she now has her helmet

We've got 1 km of dirt road to play on so we went to the end and back to just get a feel for it. She's been in the trailer loads as a stroller, and just climbs in it given half a chance when she's outside, so she's quite familiar with it

I remember those days! My kids are teenagers now, but when they were little I dragged them around in an almost identical trailer behind the Surly Long Haul Trucker I had at the time. Having a trailer opens up lots of fun with the kids, enjoy!

Sunday with beautiful weather = bikes on the trail. Rode in a t-shirt. Middle of November and still not a drop of snow here in Denver. Not sure how many miles we did but we were out for about four hours.

Rode with a friend of ours who brought a fully rigid Wylde. Took it for a test spin, and yeah, I get modern bikes. It was a nice ride. The snappy shifting and brakes are cool. I still like playing in the ultra-cheap vintage bike sandbox though.

Why pay big money for big fun when you can have big fun for little money? Now, when it comes to doing harder stuff on suspension bikes … that cutesy little statement breaks down. But so far this little MTB experiment for my partner and I is going great.

Extended the weekend with a short local ride Friday

And another extended ride on Indian summer Tuesday. Damn, I got more work calls during the ride than the past day and half... Sill a great day for a ride tho! A balmy 60 degrees out...

How do you like the Crank Bros. wheel set? I had two pair of 26ers that were really fast on my New England Terrain. I had only two complaints, one was a funky drive shell that left me stranded in the woods, and the other was "fatigue" on the tabs attached to the rim. Covered under warranty, but still annoying.

In fact, that's what kept me from buying 29er wheels for my current bike. But, they were really fast. Quicker spin up than my carbon rims now.

For how I use the bike (cross country and mostly uphills) it’s perfect. The 29s works pretty well for the type of terrain I ride on. I agree the 27.5 and 26 is built for speed while the 29 is more in ease scaling obstacles.

Drove down to the Asheville area to ride for a few days with a buddy of mine. There’s a LOT more climbing around here than I’m used to.

Rode 15 miles in Croft State Park in SC yesterday. This trail system is a bit more like my local trails at home with some rocks and roots. The new shock is a definite plus, just had to make a couple small adjustments to the HSR.

Little bit of all the conditions up near the sierra crest but I'll take a nice singlespeed rip in late November when I can get it! 15 miles with 2k climbing ✌️
Damn, that's a lot of vertical for a single speed.
