Do it!!! I have the gravel bike you can use, size 56... Basically a road bike with bigger tires.
Saw your picture of Seaside Reef a while back.Well, that makes things easy. And I’ve already kind of done your road areas already during Xmas 2024 when I was in Encinitas riding road.
Yeah. I love this trail but that elevation gain is pretty brutal, especially that last climb when you bust out of the pile of rocks.Legit elevation for the mileage.![]()
Wish I could make it out there, but no can do. From Asheville, pick a direction - trails everywhere. One place that always comes up is Dupont State Forest.ASHVILLE, NC looking for info. etc.....
I'll be travelling to Ashville, NC area on Monday 4-21-2025 staying a night or 2 not neccesarily in the same place....Not in a Landcruiserstaying in my van (MEH just another Sprinter
) looking for info/recco's on Mtn biking (no need to rent bike), places to park overnight, opinions on breweries, food, live music....
Anyone want to ride? Monday later in the day, Tuesday, maybe Wednesday?
I am +2 hours from the coast of NC, yet Garmin thinks I should have used a snorkel on yesterday's ride:Doh! Needed a snorkle for this “ride” forgot to stop tracking……
Nailed my 2nd century ride! I'm the one with the mustache on the right in the yellow/blue jersey.

Another quick Devils ride in today before the next storm. I'm on the western slope for a Aspen work trip Sunday if anyone here has a epic trail they can suggest. something with vertical and rocks preferredThe weather may push me more to Grand junction, don't see Moab in the cards.

I haven't been out there since Helene ravaged the area, so no idea what's open/exists any longer. All of the breweries are fantastic, try them all! The Sierra Nevada brewery south of town is what I call the Biltmore of Breweries - it is an awesome place, great food, plenty going on, it's really something to see. My favorite brewery is Oskar Blues in Brevard, though. Burial in Asheville would be #2.
If you're coming in on I-40, expect delays as it is 1 lane each direction west of Asheville. Have a blast!
