A little cool in SD today, probably less than 70*F, but perfect day to regear the Taco.

Got to ride today, first time since before Thanksgiving/post surgery. Just did 5.5 miles on suburban streets/greenway and it felt great to be back on the bike! The incisions were getting pulled - not painful, just a reminder to take it a bit easy and not rip them open.
I did buy another bike this weekend, mid-2010's Scott Sportster X50. 3x8, mech disks, 700c x 37mm tires, pogo stick front fork w/o lockout, hybridy type bike, in fantastic condition and dirt cheap. It'll be my grocery-getter, beater, and hang off the back of the 90's spare tire when I go out of town. When I upgrade the brakes on my primary bike, this one will get the entry-level hydraulic disks; and I may convert to a 1X (IH8FD's).

well you guys motivated me to get out for as close to a solstice ride as i could. i was on call yesterday so couldn’t go so i went today. 5:30 here the sun is just setting this time of year. but it was only -8C and not a breath of wind. work has been so busy this past few months and the weather not ideal for riding so i haven’t been out much. but i just had to go today. quick 10km in the dark! hoar frost was beautiful lit up by my head lamp

Man, I need to get out on the fatty. Been kinda dry here tho. Maybe another month or so and I will be busting it out. It’s so peaceful where I ride. Pretty much not a soul in sight for 4-5 hours straight.
I love park city. Only on the single track tho. … exactly for this reason.
Got out today and thought I was making a snowman on the GPS ride but turned out to be more of a squiggly line… saw a nice 200 next to me when I got back to the lot.
