Daughters are home from school. Got out with them for a wee shred. (The tall one is on the Shenzhen Experiment. Sid's on the wicked ASR)

Cold ride in Tehachapi. Gusts up to 30 made it hard to stay on the trail. Cold and foggy. Perfect day for a ride.

Only thing that wasn’t perfect was that I had to replace my front chain ring with a round 32t. Was running a 30t oval.

I don't know, but today seem[ed] kinda odd
No barkin' from the dog, no smog
And mama cooked the breakfast with no hog

The climbers were out

we have several of these in the PNW, and are much more friendly to all users. This one is def pre-molded concrete dropped into place in sections.

This one near my moms (grammy's house) was our 3yo's first intro, Small side and BIG side.

All last week we were warned about the "snowstorm" hitting the RDU area Friday evening. Instead of snow, we got maybe 1/8" of sleet:

Yawn. I'll take snow any time over sleet and ice. Anyway, got out today for 16 miles; met 2 guys from Honduras in a badass 80; and sought out the remaining whitish stuff. Sunny and 40, a very nice day to be out.

FWIW, medium-weight wool socks underneath some cheapass waterproof socks == warm feet!

It started out civilized

And I would be taking the Epic E-Faux for a spin

But I first had to ditch the 6901-ZZ main pivot bearings that came with the bike. They were already rusty. Who would put those in a MTB??? ChiComs, that's who. Anyway, nice stainless 6901-2RSs installed

Also, it was cold AF. So I went with the wooly socks and the best cycling britches ever: Wrangler ATG Convertible Trail Joggers. Link in the description below. (JK -- go find em yerself)

Saw a cool jeep on the way to the trails. Anyone seen one of these before? (I will hunt down and bite to death anyone who answers 🤣)
