Watch the price on the black rack linked above as I bought that exact rack on Amazon in June for $29 (must have been a run on them :hmm:)

I used the Delta VS brackets and couldn't be happier. They are installed in conjunction with a Speski Cargo Barrier which means that the bracket to bracket inner dimension was around 47". I cut the Amazon rack down to fit and covered the cut ends with silicone plugs. I think it came out great.

The Delta VS brackets were well made and shipped quickly. The after sale gift of the little field notebook was a nice touch Thanks! Low price doesn't always dictate the choice of a vendor. It's all about customer service. I would not hesitate to go back to Delta VS for another purchase.

@Bludozer Our tire carrier will work/clear the Speski barrier.

Quick update on some parts in the pipeline. Here are some VERY rough prototype pieces just to see what it would look like. This is left side add-on piece for our ceiling storage rack, will have shelf add-ons, and will work with our little Delta-Loc pieces (Delta Vehicle Systems - Delta-Loc - $45.95). Next piece to get cut is going to be the divider piece between rear luggage area and 2nd row seats.

The big idea with this piece is to have an accessible storage rack for tools and whatever else you might want to easily access from your gullwing. Will most likely have a rear cap piece (seen in white outline in second pic) so if used with the upcoming divider, it will not be possible for a cat/badger/"other" pet to work it's way up to the passenger compartment.

This white line in photo below is where this flange will get bent and act as the support for the divider:

View from inside gives a good idea of space. Going to make little bolt on shelves that go almost to the gullwing. Probably going to leave it the same width as the overhead shelf so it can be packaged and ship together very easily.

Kind of thinking there needs to be something more towards the rear of the vehicle, but have't decided what to do there yet.

Here are the little Delta-Loc pieces that very securely attach pretty much anything that bolts to a flat surface.

You can see how they work here, white arrow pointing to one in use securing the propane tank holder.

edit: words

Neat! I must confess I got one of the ceiling net alternatives and I'm very unhappy with how it droops into my rear-view vision even when unloaded (or what's left of it). I'll definitely be getting a rack and gullwings in the future.

A little news for everybody. Prototypes have been tested fitted, now off to laser cutting. Lots of different options will be available:

Already available:
-rack
-brackets

Both of the above will work with:
-dog barrier
-side "plates" (for lack of a better word), 1 or 2 at a time

And each of the above will work with racks or brackets individually. That means if you have the rack (or brackets!) already, and ONE gullwing window for instance, you can get just that side plate so you can store/access stuff from that one window.

OR you can add JUST the barrier.

OR, if you don't have any of the stuff and just want the barrier, you can get just the barrier (will include brackets in that configuration).

You get the idea.

There is enough room to the rear of the side plates to reach in/passed and easily access items in the back, as well as have little shelves/etc on the window side for storage (this is all heavily influenced by @LandCruiserPhil's setup, if you've seen any of that), and the use of his gull wings (should work with most others without issue as well).

The zone in the top middle has been reduced as much as possible to interfere with rear view mirror line of sight as little as possible, will post pics detailing that once back from laser.

Any aluminum option for the rear storage/barrier parts? that's a lot of steel/weight. My truck is a fat pig as it is and need a "vegan" option.
Good question! TOTAL weight of what you see in that screenshot is 49 lbs, so not a huge amount of extra weight there. It is all laser cut from .075 steel. To do aluminum, it would probably need to step up to .120 or similar, which would be about 20 lbs. So a little less than half the weight, but probably close to double the cost. Worth it for you?

Good question. For some the lower weight could be worth that extra expense. For me, probably not if it's double the cost. Would have to just find some other ways to keep weight down. Thanks.

Little update:

Prototype complete barrier just got test fit, ready for production parts now. Works nice with gullwings, @NLXTACY's quarter panel mount, stock slider windows, our full size rack, AND our ceiling storage brackets. So if you've built your own storage rack based on our brackets, you can add these to your system.

There are 3 sections, all of which are usable individually, or with our Ceiling Storage Rack:

1. "dog barrier" This piece (actually 3 pieces) can install by itself (using a set of ceiling storage brackets)
2/3. Left/Right side shelf pieces. These can mount to either the brackets, or the rack, one at a time.

The main pattern is the "DeltaLoc" pattern that we make little insert mounts for, the holes are on a 3x3 grid so you can just bolt directly to that without needing the extra DeltaLoc inserts.

The dog barrier piece has a trimmed down section in the top center, where your field of view via the rear mirror is.

@Delta VS - Could we get some storage dimensions for the new side shelves? Primarily depth at the top/bottom, and then width?

I have a bunch of extra Pelican cases with organizers and I’m thinking that bolting one to the side shelf might be a nice solution with my gullwings for organizing a lot of small items.

Sure thing. Just over 6” on the bottom, 2” on the top (both of these to the glass), and about 19” wide.

awesome, thank you! one last question - do you think it will be possible to connect the dog barrier with thumb screws for easy removal?
I would say no, since it is bolted to the rack, side panels, and body (under the windows) to keep it as secure as possible. So no matter what, it'll take a little time to disassemble.
