I would say no, since it is bolted to the rack, side panels, and body (under the windows) to keep it as secure as possible. So no matter what, it'll take a little time to disassemble.

ahh bummer, would be sweet if it had an interior panel that could be easily removed from the outer frame. I’m sure most people add them and never remove them, but there’s been quite a few times I’ve wanted to remove the barrier for larger cargo. Which is a huge PITA with the Speski unfortunately

This is because each piece is designed to be used as a stand-alone piece, so people can get only the part they want. If the side pieces were required to install the dog barrier, that would alienate a bunch of people.

Reality is, you can avoid the screws under the plastic if you have the side pieces, and if you're taking it in and out a bunch, you could try it with different amount of bolts to see what works for you (we put them ALL in for test fitting, all 14). You might feel comfortable with 4 bolts holding it all together, which means you might have it in/out in less than 5 minutes.

This is great info, you guys rock 👍

Ordered the shelf this week, looking forward to picking up the rest of the assembly

Now available on the site in approximately 18 brazillion configurations: Delta Vehicle Systems - FJ/FZJ80/LX450 Modular Storage System

Pic below in full regalia, with a ceiling storage rack, bulkhead (what we decided to call the piece that separates 2nd and 3rd row), and both a left and right window panel.

Pretty sure all the different configurations can be chosen on the site, if there is an option you're looking for, just let me know.

I don't see your Delta Lock pieces on the website any more. Are you still going to make these so us original storage guys can use the new tool/cylinder mounts on our attic storage units?

you bet. send me an email info @ deltavs . com and will get it worked out.

Been wanting a Delta VS ceiling storage rack since it came out, but had other priorities and now that it is shipped and soon to be here, I read through this thread to check it out more closely, since I already have an Outback cargo screen and drawer system. Yeah, research should've been done 1st, I'll admit, but quick analysis when ordered looked like there'd be no problems. Looking at pics in this thread and pics that I took during install, the rack should fit nicely behind Outback cargo screen. The upper screen brackets were a concern, since they also attach to 3rd row handle mounts, but the transition looks to be doable. Also, I'll move my inverter, which is now mounted to the Outback cargo screen, to the inside of the Delta VS passenger side widow panel (which is also ordered) and that will allow the cargo screen to be removed occasionally when needed. This will also be replacing a homemade storage shelf that I mounted to the back of the cargo screen. Removing this shelf will also allow the cargo screen to be removed since the Delta VS storage shelf is mounted to the ceiling, not the screen.

I too have a cargo barrier from Oz...I believe it’s the same manufacturer as yours. Have a pair of delta side window shelves sitting in a box to install soon, will be watching to see how the attic rack fits, hopefully it all plays well together.

Excellent! One of my reasons for posting was for other Outback owners. Reading through the thread I saw several different brands of screens and storage systems, but no mention of the Outback brand. I'll be sure to update.

@Dirty Koala Good news - the DVS Ceiling Storage Rack will work with our Outback cargo screen. The bottom 3 mounts stay the same (duh - obviously), however the top 2, one on each side - the bracket that originally ties to the 3rd row handle needs to be removed and I'm still working on a way to secure the cargo barrier to the DVS rack. I took a few quick pics to show the fit:

The Outback cargo barrier fits nicely up against front of DVS rack by wedging the top mounting tabs underneath:

Also good news for owners with the older headliner - it fits fine:

I also installed the right or passenger side window panel before I decide how to secure top of cargo barrier. Also am mounting my inverter to the window panel so more pics to follow when this project is complete.

Fabbed up a plate to mount inverter to the window panel. I like the location better than mounted to the cargo barrier. I'll now be able to remove the cargo barrier easily if desired. For now, the top of the cargo barrier is secured to the DVS ceiling rack with 4 heavy duty wire ties. I plan to secure it with modifed brackets eventually.

Now THIS is awesome. Super cool to see how folks are adding on to our platforms/mounting solutions.

Thanks for developing and marketing your oh-so-useful Modular Storage System! I thought my Outback cargo barrier was overkill untill I realized that I could attach "Quick Fist" holders on it to enable me to have easy access to shovels or rifles or an inverter or etc.... Then I saw the progress of your Storage System and as an overlander, I can't think of anything more useful to organizing the interior of a rig. I'm still amazed at how much you can carry in the ceiling storage rack. I highly recommend it! The stuff that I carried in my homebuilt rack doesn't even fill 1/2 of your rack. And with LCP's Gullwing mod for the rear windows, I can see more mods in my future. I'm working on your WW relocation kit now. I had moved it years ago when I installed my aux battery, but my jury rig fix pales to your solution.

Finished installing my ceiling storage shelf tonight. I have the Speski cargo barrier installed also. They are compatible with each other with the exception of one modification to the lower Speski mounting strut. It is a bit of a pain to mount the shelf with the upper Speski strut and the spacers. Definitely took two people to do that, with the shelf sitting on top of boxes and wood to hold it level in place. There is some distortion and twisting of the Speski struts and I will need to trim the length of the lower struts now that the install is done and I can mark the length.

I think the combo would install better if I shaved 1/8" off each of the spacers that the Speski rack uses. But, the struts flexed fine when the bolts were tightened and the combo is rock solid once every thing is tightened down.

There is a convenient hole in the Delta shelf that I used for the lower Speski strut. Did not even have to drill a new one..
