if you're talking LX lights I plan on offering a kit that's 90% finished. New OEM housing retrofitted with the Mini H1 or the Micro D2S. The only thing you'll have to do is install them in your truck align the cut off adjust the height. Remove the lights and seal them up.. $1650-$1750 depending upon the projector. You said you wanted nice lights. Nice lights are not cheap. If you find a cheap RETROFIT it most likely is not using OEM quality housings
They are a very low quality polycarbonate and i
start fogging within a few years. Why don't you just do your own RETROFIT and save some money?
You won't find a single person who's ever regretted spending $1600-$2000 for their lights. It's one of the best mods considering how often you use your headlights versus all the other expensive things we spend money on these cruisers. Reach out if you have any questions I'll be happy to talk to you

My bad, forgot to mention it’s for a ‘96 80 Series. What are my options? My understanding is that most of the retrofits are based on the Depo housing which is glass, not polycarbonate.

Reviving this old thread since I'm currently in the market for a set of nice headlights. What are my options nowadays? I reached out to the the member that sold me the interior LEDs and he seems to have disappeared. I looked at the Lightwerkz option, but there's no way I'm paying $2k for headlights. Also considering the TEQ Customs but couldn't find any reviews on the actual headlights.
I did a cheap-ish DIY upgrade using the glass depos. Originally just did a low beam HID projector (cheap DDM tuning kit), leaving the high beams halogen. That was like ~$500 for everything.
One of the projector shrouds came loose so I used the opportunity to upgrade the high beams this time. Went with decent morimoto mini HBs for those. This was a lot more labor intensive. One of the DDM HID bulb tabs broke too, so I replaced both with actual name brand. This upgrade was another ~$300.
Even doing things cheap you're looking at like ~$700 in parts alone for quad projectors. The DDM kit I used was like $130, the similar morimoto one is like $500. Factoring in labor, customized painted parts, support, $1500+ is pretty damn reasonable.

@TXMeatball, pretty much explains your options. Use this thread as a guide to doing your own retrofit. The kit I'll offering is only for the LX. TEQcustoms offers quite a few options but I would ask a lot of questions, starting with the housing brand he's using. I know he's sourced a pretty inexpensive projector. I'm assuming from China, which is fine but at the starting price of $700 Depo lights for the 80 are $400. My guess is he's using another brand but I'm not sure. Based on the information in this thread, you should look into doing your own RETROFIT.

Thanks @TXMeatball and @Luke111 . I think I will try out the Teq Customs as they seem very reasonably priced. I checked with them and they do use the Depo glass housing so I figured if the projectors fail, I'll just replace them with higher quality Morimotos.

Commenting so I can come back here for some help with the depo assemblies I have. They have been modified. I'll be back...

I've visited TEQ customs shop here in Raleigh a few times and had a close friend with a 200 series with TEQ custom projectors. He was really happy with the work and they are a good group of guys. They focus on Tacos and 4runners but have lots of options for 80 series.

BTW, I have Depos with LED bulbs. It's an OK combination at best. I plan on doing my own retrofit. Initially I was looking at Morimoto but I'm considering other projector retrofits.

My freedom retrofit LED projector been SOLID for 3yrs now and they are very similar to your setup.

Well guys I'm gonna try and use / figure out what to do with these depo lights if I can use them I'll try . My girl crashed her 95fzj 2 weeks ago stock headlight assemblie mounting tabs are broke might be able to fix them not sure at this time lots of parts to replace but I'm fine with that she wasn't hurt nor the little kid walking it's dog out in the snow that ran put in front of her damage on the 80 made it to the core support no further telephone pole had to been old as hell.
