Those runs on the way to Moab are day trips out of Mexican Hat/Blanding/Monticello. There's plenty of opportunity to hook up with the group on the way to Moab, and participate maybe just a single day...

There's been 3-4 trail days before we got to Moab each of the last 2 years.

That would be the last 3 years.

And, yes Scott - I had to skip last year myself and looked at a project calendar that now - in spite of way advance notification - has me scheduled working tasks right over the period.:mad:

I hope you are able to get them to move things around.

I hope to train someone to do the work in my absence - however, last time it took 2 people...

Have you come decided on what towns you are planning on staying in/near each night yet? Hotels? 33 more sleeps

I propose; Sat & Sun nights, 4/24 & 4/25 in Blanding, Mon & Tue, 4/26 & 4/27 in Monticello and then Moab?

Sorry for the delay, just got back from the Caribbean, so way busy.:o I called the hotels that we have had good service from in the past:

The Four Corners Inn for Blanding is offering rooms at $42 +tax per night for a single and $51 for a double.

The Four Corners Lodging – Four Corners Inn

Navajo Trail in Monticello is offering rooms at $45 +tax per night for a single and $50 for a double. This price is for the larger/newer rooms in the back, they have smaller/older rooms that are cheaper.

Navajo Trail

They are both offering a slight discount, so mention that your with the Copper State Cruisers Group for this pricing.

There are plenty of camping spots close, if that is what you prefer.

Navajo Trail only has one pet room left,,, Drew?

Thanks Kevin, She was waiting for my call.:)

I`m planning on camping around Blanding but with the last few years being so cold around Monticello having a room already booked sounds good idea to me...

I`ve passed the info along to the remaining CC members.

Booked both - I think we are an economic boost to the communities. They should probably let the restaraunts know we are coming so they can lay in extra supplies...and extend their hours:D

I mean, most of the time your vocalizations are just that, but this is a really good idea  - and it might even work :hillbilly:

We're booked at the 4 corners in, but the Navajo Trail didn't answer. I will call them tomorrow

They are both very small operations, so if they are away from the phone it happens. When I called 4 Corners, he was out taking care of something and asked that I call back in 10 min when he would be at his desk.:meh:

dang, I have not even made reservations for Moab

OK I reserved for the Navajo Trails too. I jus't haven't reserved for Moab. I must have missed the plan for that

there was none since quite a few people camp, and Michael informed me last year that he does not like the see-through towels at Motel 6 anymore

Moab is pick your poison, I'm booked 4/28 and checking out on 5/2 at the Bowen. For this type of trip I prefer the old school type hotel where your room door goes directly outdoors and preferably ground floor, so I can park close. Prefer not to haul all of my junk through the lobby, up the elevator and down the hall, each morning and again in the evening.:hillbilly:

A couple of Moab hotel lists:

Carl and I had lunch, BSed about trails, this is the penciled list. Discussion, suggestion, other ideas welcome.

Saturday, drive to Blanding, with a stop at River/Snake House Ruin.
Sunday, Mule Canyon/Texas Flat/Canyon area exploring.
Monday, Ruin Park/Beef Basin/Elephant Hill.
Tuesday, something off of 211, several canyon routes to choose from.
Wednesday, Area BFE, Cruise Moab tech.
Thursday, Cruise Moab trails.
Friday, Cruise Moab trails or CSC wildcat.
Saturday, Cruise Moab trails or some of us are going to do White Rim.
Sunday, drive back, likely additional playing, depending.

In the Blanding area, there are tons of ruins, so any "extra time" can be filled with ruin hunting? :hillbilly:

Kevin's given up trying to keep track, but I'm curious - who, when and where?

I think, right now, it looks as if Saturday caravan is Kevin, Brother Rob, Don and myself. Saturday nite in Blanding Jim and Lorna and Drew and the Drew crew should be joining us. Michael and Claudia arriving Blanding Sunday?

Shannon and his California Cruising friend show up Wednesday at Area BFE. Chris shows up somewhere, sometime. Norm is coming but not sure when. Britan is ditto. Matt is bringing:beer: but not sure when or where:hhmm:...

OK, now I know why Kevin gave up:meh:

Post up with your plans:cheers:
