... besides, daughterofromer and Claudia will be there and that makes any group of wheelers look better. ...

True :D

With camp at BFE, Lockhart is less handy?

Well. We could drive up Kane Creek (...or Pritchett...)... just saying :grinpimp:

Thinking of staying south longer, like Sat & Sun nights in Blanding and Mon & Tue nights Monticello, moving to BFE/Moab on Wed with tech/BFE trail play on the way?
I like the tech-then BFE idea, I'd think it'd be crowded though - everybody with a half-broken truck will be there - in contrast to camp at Slickrock, where the half-broken crowd usually settles for a beer and a wrench...

As I said, Strike Ravine in/around BFE is not worth it; Lower Helldorado is closed/doesn't exist anymore; the other two 'easier' trails are Green Day and Minor Threat. Everything else (from what little I know...), I'll be spectating... Upper Helldorado is cool to watch, particularly with trucks that initially don't fit...:hillbilly:

A trail suggested at the Blanding Visitor Center on the way home last year was Texas Flat. It's on the west side of Arch Canyon and comes out on Bears Ears near the Arch Canyon overlook.

Also would like to checkout the canyons south off of 211, Salt, Davis, Lavender?
I'd be cool with a day in those canyons and check out some of the arches. These require a day permit from the NP, right?

That said, we punt on the idea of driving in the Maze for this time? We'd probably have to reserve camp sites there, and this may be too short notice anyway...

I'd be up for a day-dash on White Rim; :princess: doesn't like the sounnd of that. I'll drive in the back though, so I won't hold up anyone :hillbilly:

Yep, one way or another entertainment will be had?:hillbilly:

Some do, some don't, so we try to get the permit, if not available run one of the others?

Yep, it's looking like a dozen rigs, so 3 per camp site, no way we are getting 4 permits together at this late date. See post #30, we should beat Romer for the next years proposed date and get permits while we are there?

Well the :princess: said:
my point in going to Cruise Moab -as opposed to Moab at another time- is to meet other cruiserheads ...

And:
Saturday: Moab Rim - Poison Spider - Hells...

So we are free to run whatever the :censor: we want on Sat?;p

The way I figure it we can run White Rim, come out Long Canyon and meet :princess: at Zak's in time for the last supper?:D ,,, Maybe

Claudia and Kevin, I will be on Spike on Thursday. Nice to wheel with you again

:bounce:

I saw that on the Rising Sun forum ;)

 if I have to wait in the bar, I'd be stone drunk by the time you get there eventually

 of course, I could just leave in time and be ahead all the time

Anyone thinking of going should be signed up or do so now. You can cancel, but once it's sold out, it's done!

signed up this morning. my trail choices are as follows:

Thursday- 1st Golden Spike
2nd Hells Revenge
3rd Cliff Hanger

Friday- 1st Behind the Rocks
2nd Moab Rim
3rd Area BFE

Saturday- 1st Hells Revenge
2nd Cliff Hanger
3rd Kane Creek Canyon

whats everyone elses trail choices??

So, methinks (whether I get my trail choice or not...):
Wednesday: Tech, then BFE
Thursday: Spike or Poison Spider
Friday: Tip-toe (sorta as a scouting run for me...) or BFE (or both...since we're out there anyways)
Saturday: White Rim?

My buddies from CA are meeting me there and signed up for the same trails as I did, just a few minutes ago. They just finished registering and there is 1 spot left for Golden Spike on Thursday. Thought I'd let you guys know.

sounds like spike on thursday is all csc and affiliates (from BC!) lead and gunned by the Rising Sun

Unfortunately, I can't do the whole pre-Moab trip, which is awesome.

I will be there for Cruise Moab, though. I am barely signing up so there is not much left for trails. I would be very interested in joining up for a CSC trip any day....

Thanks

Didn't y'all plan a off-highway trip up there last year? Still planned?

Yep, has been done before;

...and despite me being there, I've never joined you. How in the world do you guys get that much time off? Ugh!

It's only a week.

If I miss a whole week from work, I'd get fired or silently demoted to oblivion.

You don't get even a week of vacation time? Please share the work field, so the younger ones around here can make better career choices!:hillbilly:
