Factory hardtop-to-top of tub seals are one piece. Of course they're pricey. The ones from CCOT are two piece and what I use. I like 'em a lot, they stay in place when the top is off. I've used them both and prefer CCOT's. You can see the piece that goes on the top of the lip on the attached photos.

Ok got it, so next question. I plan on using OEM wherever possible, but know not all are available; so, who do you like for seals?? BTW thanks for the pics that really helps!

OEM is two pieces at least was when these were new. One on the lip that was very much like the one used on the top of the windshield. Wasn't designed to stay on when the top was off. The other piece was flat and covered area the top bolted down.

So it sounds like if I use OEM seal there I only need one? But two if aftermarket? Or will all OEM there are two different seals on that rail?

when i did mine irrc,
hang front doors on hinges
sides to tub
rear header to side
front door headers sides to windshield frame
cap

think i made the visor to windshield frame connection first
rear header to sides, tightened
cap to sides, rear header and front door headers....letting loose
sides to tub tightened
front door headers tightened
check front door fitment...was close enough to adjust with the hinges
tightened cap to sides and headers starting at front each side and working back.
adjusted front doors
rear lift gate

Just placed large order for seals between the tub and side panels................ More pics coming

I have always removed the top every year I have owned it... so 18 years..

2 people can do it... I shortened the tubes that go down into the "B" pillar location in the tub. I left them long enough for the adjuster bolt to still reach.

My hardtop is all most back together. Soon..

Doors first.................

Door pins from Cruiser Corps were too short but the white donuts were perfect; decided to go with these from cruiserparts.net

For my '77, there are two seals on the tub rail.

@GA Architect Is the gummi a rubber conditioner or adhesive?

@GA Architect ; that shorter rail weatherstrip that runs towards the junction where the ambulance door meets, where did you get that one? Part number?

@gcrump01 yes easy to see in your pic-thanks! Guess I just need the squarish shaped piece, 2 one for each side
