Looking through the color charts in various spots to see what color paint to get for the roof and rear bulkhead of the FJ45. Looks to me like it is T403 lily white, it's sort of a creamy white not a bright white like the tops on later 40 series. Whaddya think?
And, my instrument cluster bezel, glovebox door, and ash tray are black. Can't say if they were ever repainted but would these have been black from the factory or some other color- like white or pewter? Any insight is appreciated.

My 64 has the pewter glove box door and instruments and ash tray.
I painted mine Lily white in a single stage. the single stage is harder to take care of and I kinda wish I did base/clear, but it looks right.
the cap is supposed to be body color, but I like it white. the cap and the bezel are a brighter white than stock. The right color was too grey and didn't contrast well with the lily white.

As everyone said Lily White would have been correct for yours, the gauge cluster and glove box door would be pewter as well but I believe it is actually a little darker shade then the pewter used on later 40s.

I'm not so sure that lily white was ever even a early Landcruiser color. I've owned several early 1960's 25 and 40 series that were all the same color white and none of them were lily white. I'm not aware of anybody that has found a lily white formula that has matched the original white.

does anyone know the first year it appears in any color charts for a Landcruiser?

The chrome bezel that was upside down has been replaced with a white bezel right side up. I don't see any gray in the paint- looks like the same white color as the 62 I had awhile back now in the Netherlands owned by Paul.

Yes the color looks close to my 62. Jeff knows this:

View attachment 1230609 Shell ivory for the hardtop. You won't find a formula for it anywhere, but dean and a few other guys did some research and found a very good matching DuPont formula. The DuPont code is LS123

Wheels were a semi gloss black

I know fjfjfj (62 FJ40) made his roof and bezel LS123 and the body T-403 (Toyota paint code). He sent me samples and it matches our 62.
