In case you missed it on the mailing list, the following was sent out after much discussion on and off list...

Beginning at Coal Mine Cruiser Classic 2010, the Gotham City Land Cruisers will be reinstating its policy of vehicle inspections. Inspections can be carried out by any GCLC staff member at any time during the event. All determinations of safety violations are the sole judgment of the GCLC and will be backed by the GCLC Board of Directors.

In the words of one of our wiser board members, "Our primary goal with this whole GCLC thing is to have a good time with a hobby. However, what we do is inherently dangerous and potentially lethal. It is in everyone's best interest to be properly equipped. When you get right down to it, the required list is pretty basic."

Please check the GCLC Safety Checklist located at this URL:
http://www.gclcny.com/docs/GCLCChecklist.pdf

There is one notable change in the required equipment. After much discussion on the mailing lists, (public and Board of Directors), a working CB radio is now required.

In that case I will be sure to pack my SWR meter for those who need to tune their new CB purchases. The Pine Grove Exxon has a relatively good CB antenna and parts selection also.

Anyone in need of some extra birfs for the trip? I normally carry a spare but right now I have a few extras after the longs went in. I can bring them along if someone has a case of the "clickies"...

I want to bring my son to this trip again, he is 9 years old. Is there any other kids camping at the Cove? I would like him to have other kids to play with at the campground.

Thanks

Karl

Karl,

There are ALWAYS kids at CMCC and they are ALWAYS welcome. Although we're not sleeping at the campground, we'll be hanging out there. 2 12 yr old girls and a 16 year old boy/young man.

They'll be plenty of kids running around beating each other with sticks.

 Paypal sent and reservations made at Comfort Inn. Hopefully bringing two 40's this year.
Be glad to assist as a trail leader again if you need one for Green and Blues.

Day Visit

Hey All,

I would love to partake in this event, but as I posted before I have no running four wheel drive toyotas at this moment. I thought about attending anyway and just hanging out.

I am wondering if its ok to come for the day to hang out. And if so who do I talk to "register" and who would I pay how much? I am assuming I would have to pay at least Rausch for a passenger fee, and I would not mind throwing the GCLC some cash for organizing the event.

I especially would like to attend on the day that the world traveling cruiser dudes are making their presentation - anyone know what day this is?

Thanks Much,

ANDY

There will be plenty of open seats in wheeling rigs. Definitely come out and enjoy the event. I think the passenger fee is $5 at the park.

You can still come and partake. The registration fee is $50 and does not cover wheeling fees, but does get you a T-shirt, Sat night dinner, and swag.

There should be plenty of empty passenger seats if you want to ride the trails.

I'm pretty sure the presentation will be Saturday. I'll post up shortly with a definite answer if Mark doesn't first.

Jon- in this case pain is avolidable- although it carries a price tag.............Gary S

Yea, I bit the bullit and got the girls their own room. Not a cheap alternative, but better than not sleeping.

i will be sleeping in the back of the tow vehicle, wouldn't want to upset all you yanks with my snoring...

Is the Trail Team still around? Will they be there?
