Wow, you did a lot of work. Thanks for the credits, but you would've come to the same conclusion your self, it did made my weekend a little better. Just spend all week rebuilding data for my crashed computer, don't like that stuff.:frown:

Well...that "spidey sense" was tingling re. that wrap bar and its relation to the tank. After I looked things over, I was able to determine that I was losing 2 in of additional and MUCH NEEDED elevation with that tank by that angle drop from the cargo area to the cab. By cutting that like I did, ill be able to maintain the cargo area without much compromise and itll also make routing the filler hose easier and more direct. So it all worked out for the better. Plus...Its a pretty easy panel to make.

The comp. stuff sounds like LOADS of FUN!!!! Much better than cruiser time.:D

You hate sheet metal work, well I hate comp stuff, they always takes way to long to react after starting something.:frown:
And to make mathers worse I just came back from my Mother In Law which cost me most of the day. Just did some remaining organising garage work so I can do the real stuff next week, WELDING.:D

Here is a pic of the garage so far ;), my :princess: loves it.

Actualy the main reason for organising is I got some new toys and had no room to put them. Then there is the car rotisery I need to build and which requires all tools to be on wheels or against the wall. But I am happy with it.
I will post some pics of the new goodies shortly.;)

Had an EYE BALL casualty while torching out the cargo pan. Seems that the plasma doesnt like to cut through a thick backing of heculiner. Yes, I was wearing safety glasses, but the debris blew in from under the glasses. So I had a piece of what ever stuck in my eye and it also BURNED the eye as it landed. Can I just say...F*CKING OUCH!!!!

Also...Re set the e brake handle and positioned the smitybuilt console. Also discovered summit twist tite hose and fittings that Ill be using for plumbing this bitch. Super excited about that. This stuff will knock a good week or two off the build.

I will say that with the console in...its REALLY FAWKING COMFORTABLE!:grinpimp:

ouch, that looks painfull.:frown:

Console and e-brake look like getting to wheeling time.:D

How did you hook up the cable for the e-brake?
Bin looking to change to split case and rear axle e-brake conversion.

Them seats look really comfy!

Dude-Unlike me, you are not getting better looking as you get older!:D

Hope your eye is OK. I wear a face shield and safety glasses for just that reason. The build is looking awesome.

Thanks man!
The face shield is looking like a great idea for sure. Ive gotta say...that was REALLY painful, and there was NO ESCAPING it. TWO vicodin didnt touch it. Its healing up now, finally. Ill be back to work today after calling in for the last couple days.

I feel for you, just that sliver of glass in my eye last month hurt like hell.
The good thing is the eye heals so fast.

yea good to hear your eye didn't get damaged... I had to have 6 pieces of steel drilled out of my left eye when i was 17... was laying under my Buick electra 225 trying to drill a broken stud out of the exhaust manifold... I learned my lesson young...:D

Fawking tank!!!
Updates other wise...got some seat belts. Almost finished installing those. Got em out of an 09' Suburban. Seems easy enough, but...
For the "female" part, I had to build a bracket as they were too short, so I made one out of 1/4 in plate so it bolts to the tub and is welded to the seat frame and bolted in by a 1/2 in grade 8 bolt. The upper part I drilled a sleeve through the cage, again, 1/2 in bolt and to the floor, I just drilled a hole through the tub and will add a 1/4 in plate under it as a backing, weld it to the tub and weld the nut as a capture. The female mount took a while to figure what I wanted to do with it. I killed "two birds" with that bracket that also supports the back of the seat cradle.:D

I get to greasy to touch anything or get into a groove. But when I'm clean I try, or between a glove change.
