Stumped...
The best and most accurate way to chop the apron to match the fenders????

Any advice would be great.

I have the apron mocked up at the pitch it needs to be, but...donno how to get it there. There's gotta be a relatively easy way that Im not seeing.

I am a way more hands on have to have in front of me but I would try and scribe it of the fender. Use a old compass and find the tallest part, set the distance and scribe from there. Just brain storming. Did it alot with cabintes to fit against wavy walls. Same principle:hhmm:

Yea video explains it way better.

keep up this quality of work and soon we will see pontoons hanging from them fenders for river crossings. :)

man I need tube fender ... those look swaeet

Use a compass and scribe it in the same way carpenters scribe trim to fit.

It's harder to explain than to do.

I use this. The 2 can be connected and adapts to shapes so you can draw them on the item that needs to be adapted.

I have a small one of those and I thought about how great it'd be to have one big enough for this app.

Looking good! Its been a while since I've checked out your thread, making some progress!! Going to have it ready for Moab? I signed up for it and plan on hauling my rig there. Would be a great place to shake it down.

nice, job kieth:bounce:

man I need tube fender ... those look swaeet

Thanks boys!
Kling-on...I had been eyein these since I got the 40, but they are pretty spendy. I got to thinkin...I had a PRISTINE set of fenders that came on the rig. Not a stitch of rust and in perfect shape. So I threw em up in the FS section. The funds I got from those I only had to pay a little out of pocket for the rest with the deal that Lukezero had for them. Im pretty jazzed.

Havent seen you post up in a LOOOONG time!

the tube fenders look great.

This was what i did for better clearence on my 40's front fenders. It was a real low buck thing, but there wasn't to many people selling tube fenders in 98 or 99.

I cut the roll off of the stock fender and then bent and welded some 1/2" round cold roll to the edge that was left. a little bondo and some sanding and they were ready for paint. Turned out very sturdy and only about 30$ in materials

The pics don't show it really good, but i think everybody will get the idea. Just a low buck alternative..:D

That was what I was planning on doing if I couldnt sell the stock fenders for a decent price. Ive seen that quite a bit on various rigs some nicer than others of course.
Those came out very nice.

Took ideas from everyone and nailed them out today!
So they are NOW finished!:bounce::clap::bounce2:

looks nice man

Thanks man!
LOVE EM to be honest.
There is that GAP on the down slope of the fender between the tub and the fender...you can see it from the side shot...that Im not sure what I wanna do with, if anything. If you look at 98% of all the MT tube fender installs, THAT SHOT is ALWAYS OMITTED. So I can only assume that most leave it go. It'd PURELY be an aesthetics thing if I were to do anything...

you gonna make some inner fenders to keep the muck out? well help to keep it out.

I dont have any fenders on the truggy right now not even skins and honestly mud doesnt really get on the engine dirt and dust do but that will happen either way.
