LOL...BUT... they had second thoughts when considering my MAMMOTH MEMBER despite the other freakish deficits!!!

I had to drop the 2nd job. It was an "AS needed" basis, so...
Its a long story of the drama Ive been going through with this shift.

I bet you could get creative with thin flat stock for a frame to support the center. Rivet etc the lightweight frame to the rubber and on the corners use the fasteners to attach the whole thing.

I was sitting in my "OFFICE" this AM thinking about how to do the fender well thing AAAAAND make them easily removable. I checked out the Dzus fasteners that rambrush posted a few posts above...that seems like a GREAT solution to my issue, or something LIKE that. Basically a quick release fastener.
The problem that I see with the rubber flaps would be the potential for having them droop down into the wheel in the "belly" of them. They would be secured top and bottom, but the mid section would be left to flap around no?

I think Sam has some slick fasteners he uses. You might also stop by Trent Fabrication, they build rock buggies, the side panels get thrashed and need frequent replacement. I'm sure they use some kind of cool quick release fasteners. Their shop is right behind JLM in the alley.

HAAAAA....I had this thought as I was driving into work yesterday!!!!
(Yeah...I dont think about MUCH else in my down time.)
Making a frame out of 1/8 in x 1 1/2 flat stock. It can then be bent to contour what ever shape I need it. Might screw around with that a bit.
HOPING to get the fan shroud done this weekend...well see.

He just used his third eye while measuring the aprons to new size.

Aaaaaaah. Didnt even think of that. I did change the body mounts using stock aftermarket energy suspension bushings. Come to think of it they're not sinched down either. However, there is still a bit of a gap that would need to be taken up as the tub jogs up a bit.

Good thinking on that though.

Gotta think on the fan shroud...Donno what Im gonna do there.
Decided to start on the front bumper instead.
Basic 2x4 design similar to the rear, but this is gonna be bolt on although it would be MUCH EASIER to weld that bitch on. My concern there is for the SAG box...getting to it and removing it and if for what ever reason I need to change something on the springs.

Hell of a week I must say. Im tired!

I find it better some times to take a step back and relax for a weekend from cruiser duty.
Somehow it becomes an obligation and taking a day or two off brings the fun back.

Hey Jack, it's great to see you posting again. With your keen eye, knowledge and experience there's a few of us that can learn a thing or two from you. How's the project coming?

Took ideas from everyone and nailed them out today!
So they are NOW finished!

Great job, well worth the effort.... I made mine that tight to the fenders also and from all the twisting the frame does when wheeling, it wore the paint right to the bare metal on the fender. If I were to do it again I would leave a 1/4 in. space and wrap apron with plastic channel.

GREAT DAY in the shop today....I NAILED the fan shroud!!!!!
FAWK YEAH!!! Bonus is that it only took a couple hours once I figured out how I wanted to do it.
Ive actually been dreading doing this cuz I thought it was gonna be SOOOOPER hard to do.
Still have to do the finishing stuff, but its basically done.
Im gonna make it two halves so its easy to remove without pulling the fan.
