Now you need bigger tires.

I know...37's is the plan, but Ive gotta replenish the savings a bit, so 35's are what will be run until then. Still got lots of spending to do in the meant time.

Mine is temporarily road-worthy again. Body parts are in the mail, and my h41/Orion is in the works as we speak

Nice! Are YOU doing that bit?

Don't trust his fab skills?

OOOH...he trusts my welding,:D at least. Although Rusty is making strides to hone his welding chops. I cost too much, so he's gonna retire my services.

Those go beyond fab, they are works of art.

Lets not get carried away, but thanks.
I DID take your advice and bevel that outer tube end. May still trim that up a bit even though it is extra work.

Based on the stuff I did Sunday I think I'll still be coming around for a while.

It seems learning to use an AC stick welder takes a bit of time.

I have heard that if you can stick weld proficiently....youll be very good at any other method.
You see that AC/DC unit I have...Ever see me use it?
Its fawking HARD. I keep meaning to use it more, but the projects I have NOW require me to know what Im doing and I cant do that with an arc welder yet.
I can do OKAY in position, but any vertical or over head stuff....FORGET IT!

Did ya get anything tacked up for the sliders?

Those are very small for a bar, you must have very few friends.:D
No kidding, it looks great, you've still got it.

(my first dish you then stick a feather up your ars post of the week)

When are you going to ty them in with the rad mount?:hillbilly:

I'm paying for it. Does that count?

Mark A. and friends are putting it together. More on that later. :hhmm: My kids and I will swap it in, do the main seal, clutch, etc.

The Orion is just tricky enough that I wanted to have someone with some experience do it. Georg certainly would've fit the bill too.

I did the h41/3-speed case in my '78. I could've done it. I'm going to spend a few weeks driving around while it's getting built instead. :steer:

Wish I had your money!:flipoff2:
This project would be a TON easier if I could write a check for it. There have been times in this I wish that I could do just that.
Sounds like itll be nice when its done.

There's room for at least 20 beers on that thing.

Around 30 years ago I took a welding class at the community collage, we did all our welds with stick welders. The advanced guys got to play with the MIG welders near the end of the class. Needless to say I never touched a MIG.

No progress on the sliders, I just played around with the welder Sunday. I'm hoping to start notching the outrigger tubes and fitting stuff this weekend.

That's funny. All my crap is under budget. The only money you're saving is welding cost. I've spent about $1000 on services. The cost to assemble an Orion and bolt it up to a used h41 is not that much. That's why I'm going that way. All that "pretty" is costing you money. I'm saving money by keeping the rust.

If money was no object I would've gone with an h55f, split case and Mark's gears. That's getting up around $5k though.

you gonna cap off those ends of the tubes to keep dirt water and crap out of?
