TTT, Tech question... FJ45 rear corner glass. I was unaware but two different part #'s
64813-90334rear glass Left
64812-90334rear glass right
@whitey45 is there a right and left rear corner glass? I didn't see any differences but perhaps we had two of the same side out at the same time. I can dig mine out of the box to verify i have both sides if they are different. To my uneducated eyes they looked exactly alike. We just installed the windows in Chef's last weekend and just want to verify we did it correctly or if we need to remove and reinstall.

There is indeed a left and right side, and the weatherstrip carries the same part number.. I put the two sides together and they are close, but the curvature is off from left to right. I just happen to have some nos goodness stashed away!

Thank you sir! I will dig my glass out tonight. I may have more questions. Want to see if i can identify which is which visually without a PN.

Two updates in one day! So.. Ed and I fought the front windshield gasket and front windshield for way more time than i want to admit last weekend. Gave up, but he persevered.

We had tried to get the gasket on the glass. NO go.. Gasket must go on the frame, dry.. No lube.. Then Glass onto and into gasket. Once the glass is in the gasket then the lock strip can be installed with the proper tool. Gasket was installed with the seam for the gasket on bottom, the keyway has the seam on top.

Looks great!

I had the same issue with my windshield. The new gaskets are just a shade bigger than the original early windows, so it wouldn’t stay on the glass either trying to use the string trick. Did what you did, put it on frame first then worked the glass in with lots of lube (soap) and plastic (!) scrapers as pry tools. Of course my wife and I made it a date night full of fun and romance 😳. Ok actually it was a test(ament) to our marriage 😂. If you have any wrinkles in the corners set it in the sun to warm it up then work the wrinkles out. Don’t wait too long though as the heat will help fully seal it in place.

I did opt for a pro but it got done ahead of schedule. Im not complaining. I'd have done the same thing and figured it out cause I'm stubborn like that also.

I can say that the corner windows we installed were used and had Toyota etching, but that's all I know.

9/24/2020 update.

Tub was shimmed for body panel alignment.

Windshield frame is back on. The picture shows the modification to the defrost vents allowing the windshield to fold down without the removal of the defrost vents.

Hardtop latches installed. To facilitate installation the hooks take a strange metric pitch. M5x.9 bolts available here Metric Hardware, Metric Fasteners, Metric Bolts, Metric Nuts & Time-Sert Thread Repair

These are the ones used, MSF5X0.9X30CLZ - Retired JIS Flat Head Extra Coarse Zinc [MSF5X0.9X30CLZ] - $0.49 : Bel-Metric, Metric Hardware, Metric Fasteners, Metric Bolts, Metric Nuts & Time-Sert Thread Repair

Problem, they were a touch long. Not a lot of options out there and I find it easier to cut a screw shorter than to stretch one.

I had provided the M5x.9 tap as well to insure the holes were clean after paint.

Hardtop is back on and headache rack is in place..

Stay tuned.. Doors are next. They are not painted yet but will be test fit now that the cab is aligned. Minor tweaking on the doors prior to cleanup and paint.

Lots of small things getting installed.

9/25/2020 update.

Tweaking to the alignment of the body panels on the front.

Body shop guy has an eye. Added 1/4 inch spacers to front tub mounts. Fender washers to right fender top bolts. Altered back bolts of the left fender a little bit. Added 1 washer on left apron to adjust vertical alignment. All cab bolts are now tightened down on the front end. Doors should be test fit by the time we arrive to assist on Saturday.
