Windshield flap assembled. Glass is going in tomorrow. Front bumper is on. Every little piece makes it more like a real FJ45. Column got a fresh coat of satin black. I have a manual box in the parts shuttle to pull the pitman arm off, minitruck box is ready to go as soon as I get a rag joint for it.

The sor one for now. Wil come up with a different product as needed. Well aware of the complaints on longevity. Will be much easier to tackle something small like a vent flap later. I will try something like a silicone oven matt material later.

Yesterday Sat 9/19 update. Wrassled rear cab top glass. What a pita that was. We messed with windshield glass till I threw in the towel and made the executive decision we would get a pro. Gasket fit the frame and the glass is the exact size that came out. We could not figure it out and the clock kept ticking.

@theSherpa was a trooper. Did the OME kit with few outbursts. I'll let him post up the mods to the packs. Sits nice. Brought a few hard top seals that were needed. Tried the reproduction windshield to roof cap gaskets and found the 66 and onward 63161-60011 fit and appeared to function better than the 60-65 seal 63161-60010. Roof cap loosely assembled. Cab needs approx 1/4 shim on pass side to line everything up. Icing on the cake is the pewter 4plus bumper. Looks great.

We were pretty productive but this shows the modified defrost ducts. This allows the windshield to fold like it was intended to do from the start! Second set of pics is my modified vent. Forgot to take pics during assembly.

Not sure how I feel about picking up parts at Toyota when they bring a shopping cart out. Emblems, koito headlights, new radiator, new visors, mirror arms to replace the ones from my parts pile, new era correct gas cap and a metric wilwood proportioning valve from amazon.

Parts acquisition part duex for the week. The pan on the 2f in the truck popped a spot weld and is marking its territory. I tried to fix my pan that did the same thing and was unsuccessful. Learned my lesson, not worth the hassle and much easier to do this job once and correctly. I have 2 sets of metric snap ups to assist with the instal. This is the universal pan and the corresponding gasket and drain plug. Also in the pickup are two little rubber bumpers for @Chef 's daily driver tailgate rattle.

Chef.. it's not extra if it is necessary! Note had to do the same exact thing on the motor in my 45.. Not a big deal at all! I think 2f pans have a shelf life in the midwest. Once they are past the expiration date they decompose and need to have a new one picked from the field.

When we left Saturday 9/26 I reached in the back of the parts hauler Prius and handed Ed the fab/body shop guy a pile of High/Low shifter linkage and bell cranks. We had missed the test assembly / fabrication of the dash high/low lever with the installation of the 4speed. I had a bunch left over from my truck and a really cool piece that replaced a slave cylinder bolt and converted it to a bell crank. The stock location for the slave used to be the driver’s side, with the 4speed conversion it was moved to the passenger side. Ed needed to put a shim in the passenger side to align the panels so I tasked him with the fab job. He knocked it out of the park! Modified the t-case shifter tab to allow adjustment if needed and it clears the floor and 4wd pod. I had handed him a longer 4speed high low positioner which needed to be re-drilled to allow a shorter throw.

From the top, dash lever and rod stock to truck.
Firewall assembly Vertical tab stock part.
Horizontal tab longer version stock part. (pulled out of the parts pile)
Vertical linkage stock length.
Lower bell crank stock really cool piece I had in my pile from an under the dash high low shifting FJ40. I think 68ish?
Above parts unaltered.
Rod going back to transfer case lengthened and kick out back as far as possible for 4wd vacuum thing.
Shift tab cut up redone. Had to use closest hole to have shift travel work out.

That’s cool. I was hoping to do that but decided to go with a full floor shift.

Im surprised to see the vacuum pod fit in there. Edit. I see that’s a 3 speed vacuum pod not a split case. That makes sense. It’s much smaller.

I tried the split case vacuum pod on mine thus the leftovers.. Now way No how would a long h42/H55 with a splitcase vacuum assembly out of a FJ62 fit. I tried and tried to get it to work. Then went to floor shift (different thread). On Chef's, this is the shorter 4speed 16 spline and 3speed vacuum pod on a 4speed 16spline tcase. So it works and looks very stock. And bonus, gets parts out of my pile that are actually being used again!
