I've seen the SOR, the tuff ducks, I have a set of the brown covers from the dude in Venezuela (they are SO nice!) but I'm looking for something in grey that's sub $400 for the complete set, if at all possible, while still fitting ok and not looking like crap or being made from crap materials. Am I dreaming?

Nope. Not possible.

You are driving an antique. Everything about its feeding is going to cost you money.

Either that is a reality for you and you accept it, or you figure out a way to subsist on the way you feed your truck.

It's all about a notion of feeding a habit or drug.

Brilliant! ALL true...

Kinda what I figured. There's some nice looking stuff right around the $500 range, but was hoping that maybe my Google-fu was just not good enough, and there was someone out there making "decent" stuff for a lil' cheaper.

Why not use those brown covers that you have man? They look sweet installed and give your rig the OEM look. Maybe you have the grey interior though?

You might post and see if anyone is willing to trade a nice grey set for your brown set?

Because the brown ones are going in a BJ60 with a brown interior, or getting sold, depending on what the future holds. I want the grey seat covers for a FJ60 with a grey/blue interior. I'm looking to get the FJ60 road worthy and sold, as plans have changed after a new acquisition :hmm:

Well that makes sense haha... I'm curious to see what solutions the group cones up with.

I had started to part out the interior of the FJ60 and the first thing to go were the seat covers. Then I found the body that I REALLY want, and now I'm wishing I had covers for those seats. I don't really want to invest $500 on seat covers for a cruiser that I'm going to sell. Next best option is check the parting out listings, I think.

These seat covers were on mine when I bought the truck. They're amazing. I tried finding the company but doesn't appear that they're in business any longer... Not much help, unless someone can find out if they're still available somewhere?

Have you looked at having them re-upholstered? Might be well worth it to work with someone locally and see what they can come up with to cover the seats. I talked to a couple different guys around me and avg. cost to reupholster the driver/passenger seats with new foam and everything was about $150 per seat. While I am sure that will vary by area/region it might be worthwhile instead of just covering with covers.

@gregnash I talked to one person who wanted like $1250 to do three seats. That scared me out of calling any other upholsterers, but I suppose it's entirely possible that there is a wide range in prices from one vendor to the next. I'll dig a little deeper.

@2 E L O Those covers are actually alright. They're not amazing, but they look good enough and would certainly do the trick. I like them and would have no problem rolling with something like those. Too bad the company isn't around anymore...

@HemiAlex Neoprene covers aren't my favorite, but I'm due for a trip to Costco soon anyway. Do you have any pictures??

I have the grey SOR covers on mine and they're great. Faded, but very durable. On another 60, I bought a cheap set from fleabay and they fit well-enough and were fair quality. After your ass (and others) have been in them awhile, you don't even notice. A few greasy farts and you won't care.

If you can afford the better-quality ones, they are better and look like real seats. If not, the cheaper one will do but look like seat covers.

Still thinking outside the box here... But you could go halfsies with any potential buyer. If a set of covers runs $500... Tell the buyer that you'll go in for $250 and let them get the covers that they want. You take a bargaining chip away from them at the same time.

I like the way you think! I'd be happy to do the install too. I've got about 800 more hog rings than I'll ever need.

I have used www.gtcovers.com - based in Colorado. $250 for a set of front seat '98 4Runner covers that have held up well, and were made with OEM velour fabric. They show '82-and-later Land Cruiser seat covers.

Try Marathon Seat Covers in Bozeman, Montana. They are going to be slightly north of $400 but worth every penny.

Nothing other than the mesh (not worth the $$ IMO) gets me under $400, but the leatherette for $480 seems like a decent option. I think I like the ones I mention below better, though.

In the 400-500 range, i'd rather spring for these: FJ60, FJ62 Seat Covers / Front & Rear Kit - FJ60/62 - Grey - Seat Covers - Seats - Interior The price is close enough, and the CruiserCorps covers (same ones from eBay & CCoT I think) look like they could have been OEM.

I can get these FJ60 , FJ62 Land Cruiser Seat Covers Front / Rear - FJ60/62 - Grey for $400, but the material just looks crappy. Maybe seeing them installed would change my mind… The same guy sold me the brown covers which are incredible, wonder why these seem so bad?
