Sorry, just catching up on Mud. I guess I missed the food discussion, but glad to see we won’t starve. I’m bringing a good load of firewood and of course beer/woodford, so I hope to contribute in other ways. I’m planning to crash Wednesday night at TrafficSux’s New shack. That should give me a good head start on making the meet up spot without a ridiculously early departure.

I'm hoping to meet up with you guys in AltaVista sometime Thursday morning. John says Perky's in AV is a great place to eat (and drink???). I'll be coming down from the Richmond area. Looking at Mapquest it's actually quicker for me to head west on I-64 then south on 29. Hmmmmm. What approximate time do you think you'll be in the AV and Charolttesville areas Thursday?

@shmukster Uh oh.... I wonder when this happened? WTF??? Might wanna eat no later than Lynchburg or just past in (ugh) Danville. Straight from the website:

Perky’s is located at 802 Wards Road, Altavista on Rt. 29 South of Lynchburg; 20 minutes from the Lynchburg Airport and approximately 30 minutes from Danville. Just look for the Perky’s License Plate Sign.

Our hours are as follows:

Tuesday thru Thursday: 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Friday and Saturday: 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Closed Sunday and Monday

OK, so at this point where exactly are we meeting and what time? Sorry if I missed any previous traffic.

8:30 at the Moo Moo (SP) on 29.
I think.

So, @shmukster , there isn't much South of the 64/29 interchange. The Meetup options around there are an extended shoulder area just south of the onramp and a closed gas station on the north bound side that would accommodate trucks with trailers.
There are plenty of places just north at the 250/29 interchange, but that adds some to your trip. Looking at the map, it's not too bad, maybe 10 minutes vs. taking 60 to Lynchburg.

There is a Kroger and Wholefoods just off 250 here: 1904 Emmet St N, Charlottesville, VA 22901, which seems to be the most convenient easy-on easy off and will accommodate those of us with trailers.

If that’s the Kroger I’m thinking of the gas pumps are usually packed and hard to access with a trailer. Thee is a good beer store on the north end of that shopping center.

I went shopping today so I’m bringing spaghetti noodles and coffee.
Don't bring any spaghetti. I have plenty for everybody, including sauce and meatballs. What we need is the turkey fryer to boil the water (Chris mentioned having one) and a big pot to simmer the sauce and the meatballs. (Patrick, I think you mentioned having a big pot you can bring, if I remember correctly)

Yes, I'll bring my 2 big pots and my Camp Chef stove will work to heat them up.
Great, we should be covered than. Still thinking about some garlic bread, to go with the spaghetti, just cant think about how to warm up a few loafs of bread. Any ideas?

Kroger has a gas bar, so we could fuel up before heading into the hinterlands South of C-ville.

Just south of c ville there is a small station with Diesel, and ethanol free, and great beer.

Also can get trailers in and out, just past that there is the Crossroads, with Dr. Ho's Pizza, plenty of truck and trailer parking would be there approx 11 ish, if we are close to being on time.
