Would it be cost effective to produce in Aluminum?

I prefer aluminum myself, In the stack of reject prototypes, aluminum contributes more than it's share. The problem is that narrow range for the core thickness, otherwise, one of the other layers has to shed some, and their performance suffers. I like aluminum best though..

I really like the looks of this door panel. Having worked on my slow window and still working on my pioneer speakers, I can easily see how this is beneficial. What's the turn around time?

If you send USPS priority mail to me, you'll have new steel door panels a week later.

Well done! Looks better without the chrome too. Just thinking, you could add a Blue Sea Systems Dual USB on the door, or even power for CB. Maybe mount the CB where the basket is.

Both are great ideas. Losing the bottom basket opens up a lot of options not available currently.

Ok, what do I need to send you? My plastic is beat to heIl, but it's all that holds my door together. I need it for gray interior, and I don't want the bottom pocket put on, and no holes for it either. And I need new plastic clips. And you'll need to put new screws in the middle plastic, they're not original. Can you do that?

Send me what you've got and I'll get it straightened out. New Stainless fasteners, and new good quality clips are part of the package. Do you want the speaker hole? Sent you a PM.

MUSTHAVE, I hope you are going to be offering this for awhile? I need to plan out what I want to do with the new opportunities this presents.

EDIT: I'm going to get more info about the Kevlar/resin stack while I'm at it. :hmm:

Got your pictures, I'll do the panel without the bottom, no speaker.

What material is used between the steel panel and the interior panel, open or closed cell foam? What type of adhesive is used to stick the MLV to the steel?

damn .. I just got a set of used panels to replace mines not so long ago ... but this it's outstanding idea..

Tried both, as well as several other products, I choose 3M cleaners and adhesives.

Such an awesome idea ;)

On the FJ62, the basket is even less useful, and also the thickness of the finished panel isn't as restricted without the upper panel and the gasket crush in the front. Picture's at 11:00

I want to mount this to the door, without the bootom piece, would their be enough room?

It measures 8X11 and about 3" high. With that height I think I'm ok.
