Cardboard door panels don’t last 4ever, but this could

I try to make it easy, but if is still confusing :(

1. Take off existing door panel(s)
2. Remove top plastic piece that attaches to the top of the door
3. Remove the plastic arm rest piece, along with arm rest itself
4. Remove bottom basket

In all there are about 20 screws. Don't worry about the vinyl coming off the top piece, we replace it. This really just makes it cheaper for you to ship to me.

You ship me the 4 pieces. I send back to you the full panel with new steel structure, all new vinyl, acoustic vinyl, lots of clips.

When you receive it, you take it out of the box, slide it on the top, then push the panel in at each of the red clip points, done. About 5 minutes.

The vinyl is a very close match to the original vinyl. They don't make the same vinyl they did 15 years ago, it's much better quality.

It looks like this:

Took off my door panel, that cardboard stuff is all broken up. The top piece is off, along with plastic middle and bottom. Do I send you the screws, armrest, or red and yellow clips?

MUSTHAVE, I hope you are going to be offering this for awhile? I need to plan out what I want to do with the new opportunities this presents.

Also wondering if these may be offered for a while? Broke and *should* probably catch up on some PM stuff, but so interested in mounting possibilities, etc. :hillbilly:

Keep the screws and clips, send the rest, along with the armrest. I re-cover the arm rest too.

Very well, items are all packed up, ready to send on Monday.

Just curious, when I receive it, do I just run the wires up for Windows and Locks?

Also, is there a good place I can pull power from to power the dual USB from blue sea systems? That will charge my flashlight, and my phone.

If you do some searches, you should find something. I'd be tempted, in your wiring that you're doing, take power from a supply point that you will create, and then run it through the tubing, and into the door.

Yes, after you receive the panel, you will just run the wire bundle up to the window/locks mechanism.

Also, if you have the lower light, plug that in. Considering your field of work, I'd probably order some PFrans while you have things apart.

Still following this thread, this looks so perfect. Not sure if it's been covered yet, but do you offer this in the grey color scheme too? Also would it be possible to have it in a custom color? The only reason I am asking is I went with a carbon fiber kit for my center console shifter, ac vents, and door locks and windows. So, was curious if there was a darker color available?

I offer color schemes for the 80 series and the LX, oak'ish color, and grey'ish color. I don't think I will be making them in a carbon fiber color, but if you have the specific Vinyl color that you want, I might be able to work with you on it.

I'm a cruiser head, so yes, I will be making this for the long term. My upholsterer is a master, and like most upholsterers his prices increase, as does his workload. Right now, I've got his time, design, and textile, and the price is $350 per door.

The stock speaker looks like it fits based on the pictures. If I wanted to mount some new speakers, would they be the same as installing in current panel? I tried pioneer speakers once but they required spacers, cutting, etc. If possible, I'd like to avoid that. Truth is, I'd like a bigger speaker there if it could work.

Stock speakers are a perfect fit. What's great about the steel backing, you can mount anything you want, because you have something solid to mount to. Bigger speakers will fit, you just have to be aware of the space restriction behind the panel due to the window mechanism. If it's a big, but rather shallow speaker, you're all set. Sent you a PM.

New steel on order, setting up for cutting and POR-15 painting.

Got in some steel, setting it up for cutting now.

Should have got titanium

I never really considered titanium. I'm sure there's some benefit, not sure I can figure out what it would be though.

I priced out Titanium today, just for curiosity. Single door panel would go from $350 to $575 or so. Stainless increases the price to $490, but issues with the thicknesses commonly available. If you want Titanium, let me know, it would be fun to work with, but it's expensive for certain.

Cut out some panels today, prepping for POR-15.
