So my 2006 LC did not come with a cut out in the air box or a clip in door either. I do have the clips to retain a door. So I am planning to cut into my air box in order to install filters. Does anyone know the part number for the door? Toyota is telling me I have to go to Lexus and Lexus is telling me they can't find it without a VIN # (Which I don't have, as mine is a LC). They are telling me if I can provide a Part # they can get it for me. I obviously don't want to cut into my air box until I have the door in hand.

Thanks in advanced

The small door is: 88891-60060 - COVER, COOLER, NO.1

(the big front panel, precut for the door is 88891-60040, and strangely also called COVER, COOLER, NO.1 - it's so cheap, it's probably easier to buy this & swap it instead of cutting - at least that's what I did + it also adds a chance to clean out the space next to the condenser)

Hey guys, I got my door off and will need to do a little vacuuming as there is some debris. I saw someone mention of A/C Cleaner from Home Depot (I assume a spray of some kind), another user mentioned using bleach and a brush. I don't want a strong chemical smell, does anyone have an alternative that is relatively odor free to clean in there?

edit: I also have the Toyota A/C Refresher kit, which I saw someone mentioned spraying the foam directly in there rather than through the condensate drain. Is that a good idea? It sounds really messy to me. Anyway, I appreciate any ideas.

Had same issue with mine here in NZ while retrofitting my 2001 VX LTD. After sourcing the new cover and two filters I found the filter slot was only half the depth of everone elses on these write ups. Took to the filters with a hacksaw cut them in half so they now fit. A little Heath Robinson but after the cover is clipped on no-one else but you and me and all the other retrofit fiends will know.

Thanks for this. Works on my RHD HZJ105. The Air Conditioning was spewing dust onto the cabin. Made worse by manual wind up windows. Previous owner had left a random air filter there that did not fit in the space.

The cover will not fit because of the tab at the top and you will have to shave off a bit at the top right of the filter as shown.
Hardly the neatest job but read @TLEXAS' last paragraph

For those of us with half a filter space available there are apparently two options to sort out our issue.

Option 1: cut the filter in half as shown in previous photographs (I did this)
Option2: cut the plastic spacing out in the filter box (a little more difficult to achieve but will try that option next time I have some spare time to chip away at more updates/modifications/upgrades

Thanks to this thread I was able to convert my non cabin filter HDJ100 to filter the air:)

Big cover & cover door & 2x nippart activated carbon filters. The air is so much cleaner and better!

I had to dremel the nippart filters (the tab on the back side of them) to make them fit, guess that’s what you get for $6 each :))

So thank you for all of you who have contributed to this thread!
where did you buy the parts from please?

The Toyota parts from partsouq, the filters from my local no-name car store
thank you, I will go for partsouq, never heard of them before, (they seem to be based somewhere in the Middle-East - strange location imho for parts seller) but since they served you well, I will try. I noticed that shipping will cost more than the parts and seeing that you are from EU I hoped you had an European source, but I will give partsouq a try, many thanks!

If you only want to buy these few items, it might be cheaper to get them directly from a toyota dealership. From partsouq you also have to pay import taxes and VAT + the expensive shipping. The filters came from zsu.hu, they might ship to you as well. I’ll look up the link later for you

Okay, so this is the Nipparts one (the one I had to dremel to fit, but it has activated carbon in it):
[Nipparts N1342039]

And this is the one I have ended up with, as this fits perfect without dremeling, but doesn't have activated carbon:
[Japanparts FAA-TY14]

My problem with the dremeling approach was, that after that the filter was wiggling in the box a little bit & because it is very close to the A/C condenser I was afraid that it might wear it out over time. So you really want a perfectly fitting pair of filters.
You need two filters of each / car.

The Toyota one would be the perfect ofcourse, but it's ridicoulusly expensive, like 260RON each (and you need two).

Thank you so much for the explanation and information!

To upgrade to a filter HVAC. Just buy the Lexus/Toyota HVAC faceplate with filter door. Seems PN's are in this thread somewhere!

Trying to source these parts domestically. I see Belle Lexus has the filters but cannot find the covers other than partsouq and shipping is more than the parts. Any recommendations?

88891-60060 cover

Hi there, these parts are available here in Australia. I bought mine through CMI Toyota Adelaide branch. Let me know if you have any problems.

I'm getting conflicting part numbers and diagrams from both toyotapartsdeal.com and lexuspartsnow.com when I search for part numbers suggested in this thread. I have an 05 land cruiser. It has no trap door nor the hole for the two filters. Can someone please verify part numbers required from a recent purchase? I'd like to avoid cutting my existing cooler cover and get the cover with the manufactured slot, the trap door, and possibly a new gasket. So part numbers for those. Filters are easy to find.

Are the ones I used recently for the replacement cover with the slot and the slot cover. Be sure and get some cleaning foam and the twin air filters as well.
