Could you please post a side shot of the TJM bumper showing how far it sticks out in front?
Thanks,
Bart
What's your understanding about the TJM T13? Can it still be ordered from a distributor here in the US or has TJM decided they're not bringing anymore in?
I know about the wait times and that's ok. I'm just wondering if this bumper is still a viable option.
Thanks.
Obviously you made it home and presumably in time to take care of your dog!
We've all complemented your build as it is awesome. Also so some excellent off road pics. I am curious, though, since you needed to put in a few highway miles to get home last night how did it feel on pavement at highway speeds?
Yes iI made t home...wife now traveling...doggy safe and sound after licking my face off.
So about the 35/12.50x17 Ridge Grapplers:
Man, they traveled incredibly well! Tires were near-silent.
No pulling. Slee guys had to do all manner of tweaking during alignment to help them fit better, and yet it fracked perfectly...up to 8ph (didn't go above that).
Slee has the magic alignment sauce! I was/am amazed.
Speaking of alignment, I'm curious what your caster #s are, did you get alignment specs printed by chance? Maybe it's the angle, your front wheels turned, or just the massive tires but in the pic your front tires look like they are almost touching the rear fender. Positive caster would push your wheels forward and away from the back. Maybe Slee did this on purpose to make more clearance in front? Hence my curiosity.OK @9780LC, Here's a profile shot that will help answer that, though I'll try to post up another that is pa erfectly aligned side view. I'm pretty happy with the lack of excess front extension. It was short enough that the Warn solenoid relocation bracket was too wide for the bumper top plate--which tells me it's pretty minimal.
Here's a profile...though I can see from the bull-bar angle that this is not a true profile shot (needed to move left a bit)...

Mark,
Would you put your set-up for 35s up all together for us?
Mark,
How do they compare to the BFG KO2s from a street perspective? Should I put my KO2s up for sale?
So I was lucky enough to drive Bubba and I was very impressed. I had thought the 35s and extra weight would feel much different than mine which is no slouch either and personally preferred his ride with 35s over my 34 KO2s. In my opinion I would have no hesitation going to 35s and I might have to make the switch from KO2 to Ridge Grapplers.Street manners a very nice, but I would definitely not knock KO2's in the slightest, nor seek to sway you away from them. I was extremely happy with mine, and actually considered staying with KO2's for this build...but decided to satisfy my curiosity re Ridge Grapplers.
Bubba looks awesome! I have about 8000 miles on the Ridge Grapplers and love them. Tough, quiet and for a heavy truck they corner quite well. Wear has been good, but stay on top of rotations. Also, I do a lot of nasty winter driving in Colorado and they worked super well on ice. The little extra siping must do something. So I was lucky enough to drive Bubba and I was very impressed. If there's anyone out there debating about 35s I'd say you're letting everyone here on Mud down by not pulling the trigger (ahem...) and posting pics!!
