Well it was apart I noticed one of the front rotor has a groove in it, and I have been wanting to upgrade the brakes for a long time now so I went ahead and orders a power stop front brake kit with drilled and slotted rotors.

Got everything cleaned up mounted the rotors to the hubs cleaned and repacked the bearing, all ready to go as soon as the gaskets get here I well put it back together.

I searched for "cruisin the woods," and it seems like the event fell by the wayside?
Cruisin the woods is hosted by the Cascade Cruisers and is held at Browns Camp ,Gales Creek OR
This years dates are Sept 24-26
I had a good time at the event, meet some really nice people, good wheeling and lots of MUD.
Unfortunately I won't be going Back.
My wife and I drove over a 1000 miles to attend the event and before we could even get out of the truck we were approached by the event coordinator who was down right rude to us solely based on the fact that we had Calif. plates on our truck
Then he proceeded to tell us he would not care if Calif. fell into the ocean with all the people on it.
That's just not the TLCA way, Shame on Jason !!!!!!!

That really sucks, especially for a TLCA event.

I never really believed that type of reaction was a thing until Covid when I brought my GX 460 back to Washington state with Arkansas plates on it. I've been treated less than politely more than once when some snooty elites around here think I'm an Arkansas yokel who has obviously married my sister and sells meth in my spare time, including what almost turned in to a fist fight in a Fred Meyer parking lot. Even more ironic when they have black lives matter, or other inclusive bumper stickers ... I guess I'm not the flavor of the month activist group.

Really sad dude. Sorry you were treated like crap. I love Cali! you guys are a constant reminder of how much I like not paying state income tax :beer:

Where in WA are you located? Like any other big city, the assholes tend to congregate there. Outside of the Portland and Seattle area live, for the most part, red blooded American’s.

CA is recognized as a cancer on the USA pretty much universally. This is because people leave CA claiming to be political refugees and then continue to vote the same as they always have. We left CA and moved to southern WA 3.5 years ago and have found out that there are many ex-ca people living here.

Yes, WA has no state income tax but believe you me they do get their money from us.
Just north of Seattle in Alderwood. While not quite as bad as DT Seattle, people here are definitely less inviting than when I spend time over the mountains in smaller communities.

Agreed that WA finds other ways to gouge us, but the income tax thing is a killer for me. I technically work in Arkansas and fly back and forth on my own dime - It's cheaper than the income tax if I lived there.

And I'll quit hijacking @Broski 's thread now. BTW - Props on your fabrications skills - You've done a really nice job with your truck.

This is a build thread, thank you for your understanding

Dang Broski, there's nothing quite like a crap first impression is there. That event coordinator should be sacked.

Finally got it buttoned up last night and went for a spin around the block, every thing feels good. This morning I started the break in on the gears and bedding in of the new brakes at the same time. ;)
Super stoked to have it back together !!

Break in all done.
Now I can start loading for a wheeling trip that I was invited to with @DeathvalleypaulyPaul
The trip will be all around Shaver Lake Calif. and includes, West Lake, Red Lake, Coyote Lake, Swamp Lake, to name a few.
Looking forward to getting back out on the trail !!
Cheers ;) :)

Enjoy and have a great trip !!

We left for SAS5 at 5am Friday morning.
About 120 miles from Las Vegas we hit a traffic jam.
Then a hr. Later we ran it a monsoon that slowed things down.
It took almost 13 hrs to get the Hurricane KOA

Heading out to Ouray today 😉

That's quite the adventure - just getting there!👍

2 yrs ago, coming from another direction to Green River flat towing my 80 with my ol' '97 F350 for a ROF(retired ol' farts) run in the Maze District. I camped at the Shady Acres which allowed me to camp & short term store my F350 while on the week long run into the Maze for $5/night, at the time. (Good info for future visits to the area for those that tow their off road rigs.) The day before arriving to Green River, I was pulling out of a Maverik gas station in Vernal, UT and unknowly clipped a red protective pump island post with my passenger side slider and rear flare on the 80. I camped just down the road at an RV park and noticed the red paint as I was setting up camp. WTF! - where did this red paint come from? After I figured out what probably happened, I walked over to the Maverik and traced the route I had taken out and remembered I had to cut a corner to avoid some car just pulling into the pumps. The red post had plenty of scrapes from other times as well, but appeared to be undamaged. Funny, though I didn't feel or hear the contact...but the slider did it's job....and so did the post.

Here's hoping you have continued safe travels and an enjoyable time. Those Ford tow rigs just keep on truckin'....hopefully our 80's will survive us & being towed. :steer:

It's funny, sometimes the images of you people running 39 and 40" tires solo don't look so big. When you are parked next to anyone running "normal" tires, they look huge.
Looks like a great trip Broski.
