Thanks for the compliments! Truthfully, the price of the ironman bumper sold me. I really think the only reason that arb is the standard is because they were here first. Ironman will take a share of their business for sure. Now i need to wheel it and see how things do.

And I have totally driven to see someone elses truck!

:hhmm: when does it leave Atlanta? I'd like to check out that Ironman. I'll take comparison between the ARB as well. Looks like we are running the same amount of lift upfront which will be perfect for showing angles.
 
Looks great heather.... you need to pick it up on 2-4 Dec and take it to Uwharrie with all of us...ought to be about 20-30 vehicles on this run before it closes for Winter. :)

Oh, and that bumper is WAY better than an ARB. It has a real frame mount for the winch that the bumper goes on OVER...no bumper integration to the winch, it is on the FRAME.

That plus thicker/better welds, more gussets, and basically being built for real world offroad goodness.

I have done my studying, I have my Prado bumper on the boat from Aussieland for the GX470 as we speak (and snorkel) :)

Awesome build Hez. Dad is going to want one once he drives it to you!

It will be around for at least another 2weeks. My dad is driving it down either after thanksgiving or at Christmas. Hopefully the latter. If not at ACC then it will be in canton.

Yeah, I have no idea. The truck is in Atlanta and I am in Houston. I moved from there 6 months ago and when I bought the truck there, I just decided to mod it before it came to me. I am thinking though that over all it's about 2.5" from the pictures.
 
same with mine....the rear springs are rated 600lbs ABOVE OEM....and I dont have anything in back except BIOR bumper, spare and hi-lift...so maybe 100lbs more as in bumper it is much heavier than stock but I also cut out the entire cross member which lowers the actual weight added in the end....then I have the Hi Lift and extra weight of the Nittos versus stock...so guessing around 100-115lbs is all I have back there.....so about 2.5 inches of lift.

So the Ironman bullbar is better?
 
We have been VERY impressed with the quality and performance of the IronMan products which we have been exclusively installing for the past year.

The bumper is a perfect example in that it's similar to the ARB but it has been more refined and thought out and is a better overall product ( and they are even a tad less expensive, but worth more in my opinion).

The lift is about 3.5" total but that includes 1" of extra tire as well so I would call it a 2.5" lift.
 
I have read posts in Oz about the Ironman which weren't that good.
They said it was flimsy, rusted within a year etc. The mounting points weren't good either.
I am only telling hat I have read.
I like the ARB but for AUD $1680 supplied is a lot.
OL is AUD $1299, but I don't know if that will fit with the bonnet/grill.
 
i expect alot of that is brand bashing from ARB koolaid drinkers....that dont want to accept that another product being made by a company that has been around just as long can make something as good or better.....so they bash it. They likely have a friend that drives through the salt brackish water every weekend and never washes it off....and also has a salt based water softener at his home...and it started rusting....of course they blame Ironman products rather than his own driving and washing habits.

FWIW, a buddy here just put a ARB on his vehicle....couple months ago and it is getting rush at every joint that is welded with factory powder coating and he has not even wheeled it yet. On the other hand my BIOR has no such issues....but I wont go bash ARB and say all their welds are cracking and the powdercoating sucks and they ruse from inside out and are flimsy in design. :)
 
I dropped by ACC with my 80 on Friday and saw this truck. After wiping away my drool I've made the decision to move to a 100. Awesome looking truck and of course the ACC guys were doing their usual fantastic work. Congrats on the purchase and build Heather. I personally loved the look and build quality of the Ironman stuff.
 
How much clearance do you have for opening your bonnet?
 
Iron Man is an Aussie company just like ARB. I suppose they could have their stuff manufactured off shore, but it's designed in Oz.
