This is the easy way to put front disc brakes on a '69 Pig. You just unbolt the front springs from a '78 and move the axle over...it's, like, 4 bolts.

I agree ... but not 4 bolts :(. 4 pins, one TRE, one brake line and a whole lot of cussing and busted knuckles. Been there, done that ... well done sir (and madam I'm sure)!

Yup, waiting on spring bushings...and we only have 4 of the big jackstands

The original bushing is on the left, the ones that came in in the right. The diameter is the same, but different lengths. Shouldn't be an issue, right???

i'm with tj...od is larger on the stock one. od and id need to be the same. too long is ok because the others didn't touch in the middle anyways, plus you can always take off, you just can't add on.

Also, shoulder thickness is very important...remember when I told you to order from Mark A.?

The correct bushings now ordered from $pecter. Damn....should listened to Pighead in the first place. Now I'm paying for O/N shipping.

And I STILL have to call back the guy who used to own the '69...

Just a minor setback, means replacing the late intake manifold with an earlier '68-74, which we have a couple floating around here, one with a fluid heat-riser already installed. Putting an earlier carb on it, which we have one or two on the bench. Finding a skinny Toyota booster, which I found at the Pick & pull, but couldn't pull without a deep 12mm socket, which was not in my pocket at the time, but will be tomorrow. And the early 80 series non-ABS master, which I got from C.Dan when I was doing rear discs but never needed...still in the original box, somewhere in the garage. Gives me a chance to replace that leaky exhaust gasket, which I really should have done when the engine was out.

Is a cable carb going on? If the linkage bracket on the old carb is going unused, I could use it. :hhmm:

The '69 Pig has a cable pedal...probably easier to fit a cable carb than to change it to linkage. Will put you on the list.
