Same shackles that came on the '78...standard anti-inversion type. Same as we run on the Blue Pig.

rear axle going into place on the 69. can't wait. once the axles are officially swapped, the 78 gets out of the driveway and will be banished to between the house and garage with my "need to figure out what's up" 80. we will have room to move again:bounce::bounce2:

You guys must have a game plan meeting every night, just to figure out which one gets worked on. The 40, 45, a few 55's and the 80, not to mention the real job.

I'm tired just reading about all them, keep it going.

lol...so am i. i had eight cruisers a few years ago. i sold off four of them because i couldn't ever get one done because of maintenance required on the ones that did run. since then, i've gotten as much work done on the pickle as i got done in the 10 years before. there's a possibility that it will be running by this time next year (not holding my breath). haven't done much to the 80 since learning of it's possible demise after rubithon except look at plugs and reinstall (which i now have to remove again since a coworker has one of them fancy scope camera thingys and it will much easier to look at cyl walls from top than the unbolt and lift engine to remove oil pan idea i was originally going to do). annie, fortunately is mostly small stuff now (except i'm in the process of repadding the newly recovered seats since the padding the upholsterer put in sucked), the 45 is in "long term storage", but i'm still managing a few small things here and there and the only projects planned for the blue pig are new headliner/windshield and some body work...pighead doesn't work on his rig, so that's one less ;)

crap, i'm tired just thinking of all the crap i just typed....

Is the a thread on the 80 issues?

I don't want to get off topic, but I did not know the 80 was down. :-(

no thread. the trip to rubithon and back was painful to the rig, lots of extra body damage and a blown wheel seal, none of which bothers me, but on the way there, it began burning oil (which it never has done) to the tune of 5 quarts, the plugs show some issues with 5 and 6, so time to scope it and find out if rings are toast\, until then, it's parked.

I read in another thread that some of the '78 is headed to scrap.

I don't know what the proper name is (I've seen it called a "core" before), but if you guys have this left over mine is rusted away - literally, there very little of it left. I'd be happy to come up and take it off your hands. I can barter, bring some beer and off some help, or pay a little $$$.

Hope these hack photoshop job helps explain what I'm after.

Can you guy's break down the booster swap on the early body?

Booster and master are an early 90s mini(iirc), also have to drill holes for mounting and open shaft hole a bit. Intake and carb needed to be changed to early model stuff which doesn't stick out as far, no exhaust manifold to change as he already had headers
