seat is mounted, although i want to add a center brace, so saturday, i'll break out the welder. i also got the horn working...again  pighead got a couple hours in on the light switch and thinks he found a culprit...bad flasher. hopefully we can get that done. still waiting for the body guy to come visit and see about fixing the floor

Having trouble getting the sheet-metal welder guy to show up...

Quarter panels? We're talking BobM floor panels...

boss hog's post, #101. the ones from Rare Spares

I got those rear quarters in '11, so I'm sure the rate has increased. But I seem to remember them costing approx $200 US & $50 in shipping. It took at least 6 weeks to get them in.

I was never able to use the set I bought...

Any Christmas updates?

i worked on it a bit today before having to head to friends for xmas dinner. double checked some stuff on steering, got front bumper and license plate mounted, figured out how i want to attach mid seat braces, but still need to weld in. last week i welded up the front left door, but it needs a hair of adjustment. pulled some stuff off the 78 that may be needed to fix the 69

spent some time under the dash with the meter. the stoplight switch has power going in and, when the pedal is pressed, out, so that's good. need to find out where it's bad between there and the taillamps. time to trouble shoot the flasher unit. not even sure where to start there. may just give up. been a bit light headed since this morning and i have a stabbing pain in my collarbone, so that may mean time to rest, not sure.

Hope things are going better...

in an effort to avoid pulling the engine on the 4skinner again, i worked on this piggie some more. we now have two working headlights, working taillights and the roof rack is no longer sitting on the ground. granted, it's barely bolted on, but that's because it's too narrow. by about two inches. that would explain why the rack wasn't on it when steve picked it up. fought with it for a large portion of the day. just flat out doesn't fit as is. will need some mods to make it work proper.

also cleaned up a lot of crap in the yard, which i've needed to do for a long time. woooo....

So back in March, I drove the Pig home. Being that it was a Pig, I drove away with the full understanding that it would never be done. The body was solid, lights worked, and the engine sounded better than ever. But I did run into a few issues....

I broke a shock while trying to meet Ige to convoy up North to visit the Pig that's being made into a documentary. That was an easy fix-4WD Parts replaced it at no cost!

At the same time, the lack of a vacuum advance tube was giving me fits as I would frequently stall. And since this carb wasn't ported like my old one was, I screwed around with my old carb, which wouldn't fit with the current hood (I think Pighead goes into detail on an earlier post).

So, Ige and I swapped hoods (my early for her late hood off the Pickle) and a weber carb she had from an old '40. Now, it runs smoother than ever and doesn't stall.

AND, while doing that, I bought some flat brown Rustoleum spray paint and experimented...

Hard to see the brown, but here is how she sat at the sty last night. I still have quite a bit if cleanup, but you can get an idea how she's going to turn out...

Re-upholstered front bench seat. I have the matching rear cover I have yet to install and some NOS headrests still in the plastic. I have to wait for the floors to be welded until this goes in!
