the last weeks weather has really been a show stopper. all we've managed to do since last weekend, was fill the engine oil, fill coolant, find a huge hole in one copper heater pipe, drain coolant, replace line, fill coolant again, find a crack in the other copper heater line, drain coolant, replace that line, fill coolant again, install new voltage regulator, find it didn't come with two screws, pull two from carcass of old one, find they don't fit, pull new voltage regulator, tap screw holes, reinstall new voltage regulator, cut holes in trans tunnel for shifters, install door panels.

sorry bosshog, i know you loved the wood paneling, but wednesday, assuming the trash will be on normal cycle, not some sort of emergency flash flood, late schedule, they'll be gone...all your doors now look like this

you put 4 back doors on his rig???

you guys get the coil wire yet???

Couldn't let Boss Hog drive around on an old junkyard mini master cylinder, so today he got an 80 part. Parking brake works now too.

Put 5 gallons of fresh gas in the tank, got gas to the carb, but too much gas. Took the top off the carb and adjusted the float. No click from the fuel cut-off solenoid...fixed that. Couldn't get the '69 wiring to talk to the '78 ignitor, spent most of the day on that. Finally, using the 17mm endwrench as a remote starter, got it to fire up...

been too long and life happened, but we're still not done. we do have the brakes all bled and ready to go, i disassembled the front heater motor and got it working, a little adjustment on the rear heater and it's working good now.

rear window goes up with the key switch, but not with the dash switch. the dash switch works and everything appears to work at the kick panel connection, but not at motor. oddly though, if the wires aren't connected for the dash switch the key switch won't work.

also got the throttle installed, rear seat/cargo areas are cleaned up, and seat and carpet installed, so we're down to figuring out why it won't charge, hook up turn signals and horn, figure out dash switch for rear window, figure out why headlight switch doesnt' work, install seat.

wooohoooo....

Hope everyone is well, up there. It's been awhile. What's up next after Boss's wagon. You two have been teasing us with the new ( zombie ) 55 build.

that's part of life ;) that and i've got a 4runner i need to rebuild the engine on so i have a rig that will get better mileage since i'll be commuting to and from the redline in the springs for the apocalypse piggie build :D

Let me know when you're in town and I'll buy ya a round or two at Rocky Mountain Brewery (just down from Justin's shop).:beer:

will do. bosshog wants to come down too, so might be a crew.

pighead went to town today. ammeter is showing it's charging now, not sure how that happened, but cool, found his seats won't fit with the heater where it is, or over the tunnel, so did some mods (unbolted heater and it's sitting off to the side; he wants a bench anyways, and cut two legs off to weld lower), found the heater is hideously loud, but brakes work awesome.

pighead wanted to go for a ride , but seat doesn't bolt down yet, so up and down the drive was the most he and bosshog could do, but smiles abounded.

two steps forward, one step back. got all the cut wires fixed, now the horn stopped working again :(

did manage to get the door welded up. works much better now. had the standard pig lower hinge cracking. for those that haven't experienced that, here's pics. forgot to get pics of the actual cracking, but if your door drops a lot when you open it, look at the bottom of the bottom hinge for cracks. chances are, when you pull the door, you will find a spiderweb of cracks where the hinge bolts. in this case, i also found a couple large holes.

also got ahold of a guy to weld new floors in. he was going to try to stop by sunday but didn't make it, but in case, pighead cleaned up the floors so he could see what he was dealing with.
