Looks a lot like my Earle Slee rear bumper. Not sure what he offers now?

Did i miss any talk about it having a 2" receiver? I dont care so much about towing but i do use it for my mountain bike rack regularly.

Patiently waiting to see if this goes. I like it. Tire carrier?

Got back on track with this bolt-on rear bumper build. Friend of mine lent me use his outdoor space to finish the build. Went with a single swing out made from rectangular/square steel tubing and a stainless steel, locking De-Sta-Co clamp for single action convenience and safety (simply my preference). Swing out holds a Comp4x4 adjustable tire carrier and universal tire plate as well as a custom made accessory plate, to which I chose to mount a single jerry can holder. Since the last photos, I changed the D-rings to beefier more angular ones.

Started working with some pros yesterday on blueprinting this project. We measured everything out. This week its getting punched into their CNC water jet cutting program and next weekend we're starting to cut the first prototypes from aluminum (to allow ease of manipulating, sanding and fitting) We are building a jig to hold the plates for welding and to line up all bolt holes. Once its jigged and 100% dialed I'll be doing my first small run in 3/16" Steel plate with some 1/4" brackets, sandblasted and powder coated semi-gloss black.

My goal for pricing is to offer this product directly to you, turnkey and bolt-on at a much more inclusive and attainable price point than the existing bolt-on options. Exact costs will be determined as we sketch out the first production run.

Pricing and more details will be posted ASAP! You'll notice I'm missing the little odds and ends like light/antenna tabs, lic plate holder, catch pin/plate. Simply ran out of time to install those items before going to blueprint so they'll be added later. There will also be an optional combo pintle/ball hitch. My personal goal, although perhaps overly optimistic, is to have this bumper underneath at least a couple Christmas trees this year! If you're in So-Cal or Bay Area I'll be passing by your way around Christmas time.

I'll be posting a new thread soon in the opposite build order, Finish to Start, but wanted to at least get an update out there, thanks for looking!!
Cheers,
Ryan

I wheel to camping spots so I need to cary a spare tire and gas, sometimes driving through the desert at higher speeds and don't want too much weight hanging out there over my ass. My truck doesn't have F/R lockers yet so I can't hit extreme rock crawling trails that require full side to side skid plates under the rear end, so my personal preference and needs for something more stylish, lighter weight and complementary to the body lines are reflected in this design.

Can swingout be on the pass side instead of drivers?

Can swingout be on the pass side instead of drivers?
Hi ajax1, this build started out on my truck so I chose to have the swing out on the drivers side to allow for easier curbside loading where I live in Ocean Beach. Initially I will be limited to producing them based on what is pictured. It will have a catch pin with a T handle to prevent it from swinging out into the street or an adjacent vehicle. There are pros and cons to swinging both ways, for sure.

Do I understand correctly that this will bolt on without needing to cut the frame?

Any plans to sell a kit for folks that want to weld up their own? I really like how simple and clean it is. I dont get crazy with my truck so this is a nice solution.

Can I get in line for an early one? Esp if it's available in a kit?

I like it. I'm envious of anyone that can weld. I could envision a "pin" to keep the swing-out in one place.

Excited to see final cost as well. Interested in a fully built unit in raw metal instead of powder coated if that would help bring down cost.
